WHEN THE WICKED RULE!

2 Chronicles 21:20

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. No one was sorry when he died. They buried him in the City of David, but not in the royal cemetery.

The scripture records that:

Proverbs 29:2

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.

But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

How would the people not mourn a king after he passes on, the answer is simple, He was wicked.

Jehoram was the son of Jehoshaphat, when we read about Jehoshaphat we see how faithful he was to the Lord and all he did to ensure that the people walked in the ways of the Lord.

When he passed on he had left his first son Jehoram to be king, the only thing that qualified him was that he was the first son.

His brethren were far better than him. To make it worse he went ahead and killed all of them!

2 Chronicles 21:13

Instead, you have been as evil as the kings of Israel. You have led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship idols, just as King Ahab did in Israel. And you have even killed your own brothers, men who were better than you.

He chose the way of evil just like the kings of Israel, i.e, Ahab and did what was wrong in the sight of God.

So what do we expect? War was all around him and those who were supposed to be his subject rebelled against him.

This was just the beginning.

2 Chronicles 21:7,14-15,17-18

But the lord did not want to destroy David’s dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.

So now the lord is about to strike you, your people, your children, your wives, and all that is yours with a heavy blow.

You yourself will suffer with a severe intestinal disease that will get worse each day until your bowels come out.”

They marched against Judah, broke down its defenses, and carried away everything of value in the royal palace, including the king’s sons and his wives. Only his youngest son, Ahaziah, was spared.

After all this, the lord struck Jehoram with an incurable intestinal disease.

There is no hiding place for the wicked, there still remaineth the Judge of all and it has already been set in motion that which would fall on the wicked.

Psalms 1:4-6

But not the wicked!

They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.

They will be condemned at the time of judgment.

Sinners will have no place among the godly.

For the lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

There is no gain in walking in the path of wickedness for what you do is actually working against God.

The Lord will take care of all our battles and we shall walk continually in righteousness and NOT be found guilty of evil.

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father Your way is that of righteousness, that is the way I choose. Keep me in Your goodness and let Your nature flow through me. Continue to fight my battles Lord. May all I do please You Heavenly Father. All is well with me and mine. Halleluyah.
