WORK AT IT

Proverbs 21:5

The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.


When the year began many had a lot of expectations. Some went from one programme to another seeking for one blessing or the other. There would have been a lot of promises targeted at the end of the year.
Depending on what one is expecting, some may get it, yet some may not.


In some countries, there is this mentality that one would just make it, that is "a tree just appears out of thin air". In other countries some are just complacent and have no ambition, they have been trapped with what they think "is"!


No,


There is always a planting, a nurturing, then a full growth.


We should remember that if:

*  It is work, we should expect to spend energy

* It is a journey, we should expect it to take some time

* it is a training, we should expect to learn and be assessed

* it is a business, it will grow from stage to stage

* it is a marriage, we live it day after day

* it is children, we have to train and raise them

* it is a ministry, we must minister

* it is a position of authority, we must lead and lead well.


No matter our expectations, we should understand that if it tarries, it could yet be more opportunity to prepare for it.


If we concentrate only on the difficulties we will not get far in achieving victory.


When the challenges come we will overcome.


As believers we do not just desire aimlessly, we live purposefully, understanding that we receive to give.


Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.


So as we go very close to the end of the year, my prayer is that we would:

* get better day after day

* receive greater and better than we expect

* profit in all good things

* remain relevant


All these will be if we actually work at it and the Lord being our helper.


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER
Loving Father, by Your power I work and thus prosper in this land of the living. Help me Lord to excel in my endeavours, keep directing me for in You I live and move and have my being. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

TRADE WISELY

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Many have traded their joy chasing over material things and the pleasures and satisfaction of the world. The question is "is it worth it?". Yes we must earn, work and keep improving day after day but we must remember "nothing is free". We must pay a price. So, what are we ready to sacrifice? Some have sacrificed, their: * health * peace of mind * children * marriage * calling * ministry * good name All in the bid to get material things. 2Timothy 4:10 for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica-- Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us?
