CHOOSE GOD'S WISDOM

Ecclesiastes 12:12 And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh It has been observed that as you grow to the zenith of academics your region of expertise begins to narrow down, you have areas of specialization. One thing is fact, there is no end to learning for man, when you think you know so much on a matter someone else arrives and dwarfs your level your knowledge. A man can make so much noise on an issue but someone else comes and counter his claims. Proverbs 18:17 The first one to plead his cause seems right, until his neighbor comes and examines him. One still remains true and infallible and that is the call of God to every heart and mind and the evidence of His presence all around us. You may argue or try to use your human instinct to explain it, yet it will elude you. The workings of God and His salvation plan by coming to earth in human form in the person of His Son, further to the revelation and pre

IT IS A SLOW FADE

Proverbs 15:14 A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash. The fall comes as a slow fade, it slips away bit by bit before you know it one has fallen. (" it is a slow fade, when you give yourself away it is a slow fade, when white and black are turned to grey,  and thoughts evades, choices are made, a price will be paid if you give yourself away people do not crumble in a day . . . it is a slow fade . . .)... music by Casting Crowns - slow fade. No family crashes in a switch, it starts bit by bit. No habit just jumps in and stays, it establishes itself step by step. Poverty doesn't just step in, it crawls in bit by bit, your account may remain the same, but the atmosphere changes. Sicknesses doesn't just step in, unhealthy habits build up and vectors drop in their venoms, bit by bit it matures. Friendship don't just break! secrets upon secrets creep up, betrayals keep pilling up till it eventually explodes. This is same thing in marriages! We d

FAMILY

Ephesians 3:14-15 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. We have family! we become a member of this family, because of Grace that came from God to a people whom He created for Himself. However (man) who choose to test the otherside thinking it was freedom,  but alas no,  it was to sell the birthright to the one who envied man and wanted to see him fall. Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" Man was created independent with power to choose and to have dominion over all creatures and things created. Yet needed to be sustained by a power because he was a spirit being and was created to draw life from God's Spirit. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;

NEVER FORGET

Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits. Deuteronomy 4:9 “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren. Do you always remember: * who heals your diseases  * who protects you * who provides for you * whose power cannot be contested * He sacrificed His Son for us * He called us back when we were lost * He forgave our sins * He sustains us each and everyday. In Him * our families are blessed * our work prospers * we are above principalities and powers * we are gods * we are healed * we excel in all we do There is the tendency to forget what God has done for us when we face new challenges. We cannot allow this happen! We could get so preoccupied with the issue and forget who has been good to us. No we must not forget. Lamentations 3:22 Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compa

PRAY

1Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing, Mark 1:35 Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Christ who was very God, was a man of prayer. Selah One thing is sure about prayer as stated in the scripture is that it must be consistent and never ceasing. Daniel 6:10b  . . . he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Great men of old had the custom of praying consistently, from Abraham to John the Baptist, this was so even till the resurrection of Jesus and is still continued when the Holy Spirit came down on Pentecost. Prayers are of many types and forms but the most important part is when you have discussions with God. A child cannot but communicate with the father. You cannot say that you are God's own if you do not cultivate the habit of being in constant communion with Him. No matter how busy you are, do make time to talk with the Father PRAYER Lovi

THE VOICE

Deuteronomy 13:4 Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. We live in a world that is full of noise.  A lot of things coming in from every corner. The social media, newspaper, television, internet, friends, passerbys, colleagues, family and even from some pulpits. Many voices that come to us are not for our good, we must be sensitive and trained enough to resist all those voices and only receive that which is line with God's word. We must have a strong filter, the filter is the Word and the Spirit. If you are to live in faith you should hear the voice of the Lord above all the noise. Psalms 62:11 God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Jesus said His own will hear and thus they would follow Him, they would not follow another. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: So many things seek our attention. * Some are very important * Some are not that important

ALL ABOUT GOD

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, It is a mistake to think that it is all about you. Yes you are important, however more important is Him who made all things, from whom you came and to whom you will return. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. One thing we most times forget is that many have come before us and many will come after us. Our time comes and goes, still God remains unchangeable, omnipotent, omnipresent. Billions of people have lived before us and many more would live after us, if time tarries. We are a passing phase but He is constant. So it is not about us but about Him. Revelation 4:11 "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created." So * if He gives us all we ask for or not * if we have

WE ARE HEALED

Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. The desire of God for us is that we should be in good health. The earth consist of things which could make our natural body weak and fall to sickness. Some ailments were from birth, some developed from activities done after birth, some as a result of bad life style, some as a result of eating the wrong things and recently from the activities of man in improving technologies, wars and also industrialisation. From the beginning of time God had been in the business of healing. The fall of man as recorded in Genesis 3 made man liable to sicknesses and diseases. But God had always shown His power to heal. His mercy was reveled from His children of Israel and all who still came from the outside received their healing, when they stirred up their faith and came to God. An example is that of Naaman the Syrian commander who was healed co

ETERNITY

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. While we are here on earth we may forget that the time here is limited. We are either overwhelmed with the riches and enjoyments we have or the pains and worries of life. We could also be weary of the bothers of people around us. The list continues . . . The main riches surpasses our time here, for it is from these riches that we enjoy on earth. Romans 9:23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness . . . Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. So whether in this world or in the one after riches still belong to God. Think of it, the joy you experience when you are in need and money gets into your hands. It

WHAT DO YOU HAVE INSIDE?

Matthew 23:25-26 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence! You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too. Most times, things we buy or are attracted to, come in wrappers with shades of various colours, logos and designs. The real thing is eventually seen when the wrapper/covering is removed. Listen, just like that product, when the covering/makeup of a person wears off or is removed, we see the real person! Check: * away from the church service/programme * when people who know us as christians are not present * when night has come * when we are annoyed * when we are tempted with money, sex, power, position * when we have a challenge * when expectations are delayed etc In these situations we know what one is really made of. Jesus told the Pharisees and teac

TIME TO MOVE ON

Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry. We may * have fallen * think we have failed * have tried many times and feel it may never work out * feel we have waited too long * have everything working well for us * have been offended by someone * have offended someone * have lied or even taken what is not ours *  have disappointed someone or even ourselves. Because of this/these: People may be making fun of us, maybe behind our backs. People may be praising us. Some may just be indifferent. The enemy may keep dropping doubts in our mind. No matter what it is . . . Don't stay there, get up! try again. It will surely work out. It is time to move ahead. Recall, take account of, then throw away the: * mistakes * wrong decisions * hurts * disappointments * shame * sorrow * sins * self righteousness * fears * unbelieve * pride etc and then recall

WHY HURT ME?

Proverbs 3:29 Don’t plot harm against your neighbor, for those who live nearby trust you. Matthew 7:12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. When God told the children of Israel not to murder in Exodus 20 Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder. They took the instruction as literal until Jesus explained it to us. Matthew 5:21-24 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder,' and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.  "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.  "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,  "leave your gift there before the altar, an

PRIDE a no no!

Proverbs 11:2 Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. It is always said that what brought Satan down and made him lose all his glory was that sting called pride. Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud, but He will establish the boundary of the widow. James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Pride could mean you forgetting who is in charge, God, then placing yourself in His place. The Lord may not act immediately but when He does the result is not pleasant. For what you are doing is asking Him to let you go, and as we see with the children of Israel, when you lose His presence, you lose His covering then the enemy can have their way. Selah Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images. When we place ourself in God's place we find it easy to find faults in others, we always feel offended and rarely s

WORSHIP GOD

Psalms 66:4 Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” The best way to begin a new day is to worship the one who allowed us to see the day. 1Chronicles 23:30 to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening; Same way to end the day. Giving God the Glory. Psalms 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. The act of worship involves reverence. Our everyday lives should be aimed at giviving reverence to God, in school, workplace, at home, in the bus, in your car, in the airplane, everywhere. Worship is an act which is as a result of the state of one's mind. Worship is for the One we submit to. Do we always worship God? Worship is attributed to a deity and is even synonymous to idolatry. Another synonym is idolatry. (according to the English dictionary). We therefore should note that when we do not worship God somethi

HAVE YOU SEEN GOD?

John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 5:37 "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. John 8:57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" John 14:7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." All the desire of man is actually to return to full communion with the Father, that hunger has driven so many people to chase after things money, fame, religion, lusts, sorcery, power, fame and so on, just to satisfy that desire. God has revealed Himself to us in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. He also abides in anyone who believes in the person of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. Acts 17:24 "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in

DO YOU LOVE?

1John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. It is indeed important to ask this question. People ask what is real love, what is the greatest love story? Here it is: 1 John 4:9-11 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. There are many stories and definitions of Love. Yet the greatest of all is the one of Him who is above all things and from whom all things have their origin. He is the one who made us "human" come to existence. He is Yahweh, God the Almighty. 1John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God is love but His

COME BACK TO LOVE

1 John 3:11,18 This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Listen, many argue about this person or that person who seemed to have made it in life, yet they do not know God! Listen, God is revealed in every of His creation, even in animals and other forms of life. That you do not acknowledge Him would not make Him immediately take life out of you. No. However, know that you are just one person out of billions who are living and the uncountable who have lived in this world and yet another uncountable who would yet live in this world if the end tarries. So, what is wisdom? To have a place with the One who created you and would determine what happens to you after your time here. But what say do we have in this? Your say is only limited within the time you live here. Hebrews 9:27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgmen

HAPPY BIRTH DAY

John 3:3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. The day you begin a thing is the day, you were born into it. Until you have come to an acknowledgement of a truth, you cannot fully live in it. You could be * around the truth * within the truth or * arguing the truth You never get the benefit of it until you accept and receive the truth. John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It is never too late to start on that which God wants you to do or achieve. Once you have identified it go ahead and begin. It is your birth day for that particular assignment and surely you will complete it. The day you decided to accept Jesus as Lord and saviour is your spiritual birthday so also the day you begin to fulfil that assignment God has given you. For every purpose there is a beginning. That is the proc

SHOW APPRECIATION

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. At what gesture do we need to show appreciation? Your ability to show appreciation is a measure of the love inside of you. 1 John 4:16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. Every form of appreciation encourages the doer to do more good. Somethings we do take the following for granted: A. The ones who regularly calls or checks up on us. B. The ones who always has a good advice for us. C. The ones who gives us things even as little as recharge cards or pay our transport fares or gives us a ride. D. The ones who corrects our mistake. E. The ones who shares the word of God with us. F. The ones who makes our worship comfortable as a worker in church. E. The ones who work under us or serve us. F. The ones whom we work under or serve. G. The ones who allow us come in front of t

LET'S GO TO CHURCH

Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. If you have been born again, that is, you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You have become part of His body and definitely you have a role. 1Corinthians 12:27  Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. As a family member you cannot afford to stay away from other family members. The bible says there is need to edify  one   another. Ephesians  4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. When you stay away from the brethren other things begin to draw your attention and most times they are distractions to who you are in Christ Jesus. The issues always arises if you have not found where your brethren are. Thank God for

FREE

John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Jesus was, is and will be the only one who can make this claim. Man was born into the bondage of sin, which originally separates the man (the spirit of man) from his maker. The mentality of slavery keeps one in bondage and makes him/her think that there is something needed to be done to find favour in the eyes of the master. So one in bondage tries to follow laws, follow practices and keeps seeking forgiveness because there is a doubt of being worthy. A bondage of religion. But if you are in Christ Jesus you are free from all forms of condemnation and you have direct access to the Father. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a

BE BETTER DAILY

Ephesians 4:21-24 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Man is fallible, that is we are liable to make mistakes. It lies on us to take stock each day to correct our mistakes and move forward. Psalm 19:12-13 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Pride, selfishness and lack of love could keep us in the bondage of no forgiveness and hatred but when the Love of God takes over our heart we forgive easily and learn not to think only of ourselves but of others. * What change do you need to make today? * What mistakes do you need to cor

BY FAITH?

Luke 18:8b But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” * If you pray and it seems as if you did not get what you asked for? * When you feel all is not well? * When you are surrounded by a lot of unbelievers, then they begin to reason God out 😀 *When you seem not to understand a part of the scripture * When it seems to you that some who are not born again keep prospering * When you face a certain uncertainty * When people who say they are of God, keep on misbehaving * When false prophets use the name of Jesus to do things, perform miracles, extort weak minded ones * When many dominate others all in the name of God * When you don't see help in sight, it seems all the testimonies belong to someone else * Even when it seems all is well and things are going fine In all remember Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God st

GOD's WILL

1John 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. Nothing like a child knowing what the parents desire, what plans they have and what to do to please them. The same way God has embedded in His word His will and purpose for our lives. He also by His Spirit in us, reveals His will to us. If we know His will we then do not ask amiss but according to His will and we are sure that all things will definitely work for our good. Jesus said Mark 3:35 "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother." John 9:31  "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to God's will. Romans 8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. So in all things we can confidently pray "LORD

GOD KNOWS BEST

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. We all have our desires, plans, goals and expectations. We bring them to God in prayer. We expect it to work exactly as we picture it. Sometimes things don't happen the same way we expect it to, we then forget all and focus on the exact thing we desired. But let us understand that when God looks at it, He looks far beyond our limited view, He has in mind the future and the details we are not privileged to have. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, We can be sure that God has our best interest at heart. He sees all possible outcomes and then gives us the best. Isaiah 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Psalms 92:5 O LORD, how great are Your wo

SWEET SERMONS

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; One thing must be clear, the message of salvation is "the good news": Matthew 24:14 (BBE) And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come. The good news is the redemption of man from the bondage of the law and from the power of sin and death. The adoption into sonship and the right to live and rule in eternity with Christ. Revelation 1 : 5 & 6 And from Jesus Christ, the true witness, the first to come back from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who had love for us and has made us clean from our sins by his blood;  And has made us to be a kingdom and priests to his God and Father; to him let glory and power be given for ever and ever. So be it. Yes it is the good news, however sound doctrine entails the lifest

TAKE CONTROL

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Firstly we have taken control of ourself. Next we need to take control of our relationship with others. We could be * leading others: parent, employer, pastor, teacher or in rulership position( political or otherwise) * be led by others: employee, laity, children, student, citizen, or just reporting to someone * a spouse *  neighbour * a relation * a public servant: a journalist, welfare worker, medical personnel, in the judiciary or in the armed forces or law enforcement Whether we are reserved, outgoing or in between, we fall into one category or the other. We affect the lives of others. That is why the bible says . . . Hebrews 12:14 & 15 Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking diligently lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defil

AS YOU TEACH - WATCH YOURSELF

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears Every christian has a role of a teacher, we have a duty to lead. We are called to also call others back to God. It could begin from our children. Deuteronomy 6:7 "you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Psalms 34:11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. We learn, we are fed, we also need to feed others. We are relevant. Yet in all, we are cautious that we may not err. The world is a battle, every believer must be serious. The enemy strives to make us complacent but he would not succeed for our peace and rest is in the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the

DWELL NOT IN SIN

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. The argument of whether salvation can be lost or not is really a great one. However my advice is that we must search the scriptures properly and listen properly in the Spirit before we declare. (let me leave it to my spiritual elders for now). Listen, I do not run away from any form of evil just because of the fear of hell. No, that fear is dead since I started growing in Christ. I ran away because I LOVE GOD! One thing I have learnt is not to teach personal experience but the word of God, I am not the saviour, I am one of the mouthpiece of the Saviour, thus we are brethren, we follow Christ. He teaches us, directs us, loves us and will transform us. Our assurance is that where He is, we will be also. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. None of your acclaimed spiritual leaders is the saviou

THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES

1 Chronicles 5:1 The oldest son of Israel was Reuben. But since he dishonored his father by sleeping with one of his father’s concubines, his birthright was given to the sons of his brother Joseph. For this reason, Reuben is not listed in the genealogical records as the firstborn son. I tell my students: "before the action, think of the consequences" Many are in trouble today just for the very reason of taking actions that have grave consequences. Don't just live anyhow, yes, you could make mistakes, but be careful, there are errors that would really cause great harm if not irredeemable ones. This is why Christ said He would not leave us alone. John 14:16,18 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Listen, the reason why we do not enjoy the full influence of the Spirit is that we listen to so many voices in our mind which also include our own! Therefore be careful

TAKE ACTION, CHANGE THE NARRATIVE

1 Chronicles 4:1,9-10 The descendants of Judah were Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request. When you begin to read the book of 1Chronicles, you see a long list of names stating the genealogy of the people at that time, all the way from Adam. However, you notice that as the list is being read, it just has to pause at some point to talk about someone, yes, an event that cannot be ignored. Jabez was one of those people. Jabez had a bad beginning because his own mother named him "sorrowful" because he was born in pain. Wait, what did scriptures record about him: 1 Chronicles 4:9a There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable tha
