The sword

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Briefly let us look at the weapon of the believer. It is the word of God. The word of God is scriptures, the same way we master the use of a weapon, be it a sword, spear or a gun, the same way we master God's word that we may know how to use it.  2 Timothy 2:15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. The battle we fight is against the enemy, and what is his weapon? Fear and ignorance. Remember: Genesis 3:1a  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.  Revelation 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he wa...

FEAR IS ABSENCE OF FAITH

Hebrews 3:19 So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest. The stumbling block to serving God is unbelief. Simple Listen brethren, it is unbelief that causes us to fear. Yes.  For fear is the absence of faith, when we say fear, we are NOT talking of that feeling that grips you when you hear a loud bang, see a frightful figure or face a certain challenge. It is that fear that lingers on and begins to determine your course of actions.  See the fear of being poor has made so many go for money in evil ways. They doubt that the Lord will help them if they do the right thing.  Fear can bring about foolishness. "If you don't settle the lecturer you won't pass", that is a type of fear. It leads to sin.  Remember the tool of every enemy, especially the devil, is fear.  Do you know that fear brings about pride. It is fear that causes politicians to steal. THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN, an unhealthy competition.  Genesis 3:5-6 “God knows tha...

HE KNOWS, HE IS MERCIFUL

Hebrews 2:18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. What audacity will a man who has never known an ailment have to console one who is going through it, saying he knows?  Is it hunger? He went through it.  Is it pain? He went through it.  Is it hate? He went through it.  Is it temptation? He went through it.  Is it abandonment? He went through it.  We may NOT be able to list it all, Christ Jesus went through it all for us.  Did He have to? No, yet He did.  John 10:18 No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” What really do we have to lose by believing and staying faithful? (philosophers, think on it), however what do we have to lose if we do NOT believe and stay in faithfulness? - eternal regret and pain.  John 3:18-21 “There is no j...

IT WAS ALL FOR US

Hebrews 2:5,11 And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about. So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. Please understand this, the Heavenly Father created us to dominate the earth, where there was no evil.  Remember: Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day. When we have ascertained this truth we would understand our relevance and why Christ had to come.  Many people talk of going to heaven. . . etc, may we receive more understanding. 2Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:1-3.  So the whole plan was not for angels, the whole plan circled around a...

DON'T REJECT THE TRUE MESSAGE

Hebrews 2:3-4 So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose. We live in times when many false prophets and teachers have been revealed. A lot of twisting have been done to the original teachings and message of Christ. It did not just begin today it started even in the time of Christ and the apostles.  From the bribery of the Roman soldiers to coverup the truth about the resurrection to those who wanted to push judaism, then those who claimed Christ had already returned. Some even claimed that Christ never died. The list goes on and on.  We must understand that there is counterfeit only because there is an origin.  Our opening verses in Hebrew chapter two tells us: Hebrews 2:1-2 So we must listen very carefully to the tr...

A NEW YEAR

Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Welcome to the new year, it is the Lord's doing, we cannot take it for granted.  Remember three things: PRAY, PLAN, PROGRESS!  Yes, that you didn't get it right the previous year does not mean you totally failed, the Lord has given you another opportunity.  The prayer requests that did not manifest last year can come to pass this year.  The mistakes of previous years, should not be repeated this year.  The victory of last year can be upgraded this year.  What were you called last year? You will have a better name this year.  Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.  Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Remember God is not limited by time.  Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” says...

THANK YOU LORD

Psalm 105:1&2  O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. As we conclude another year, it is wise to look back at what the Lord has done and give Him thanks, firstly of course that we are among the living. We must remember that any other thing matters only after we have life.  The year came as many others did, some with full joy, some mourned a lost one, some had high hopes of great things ahead, many looked for a new thing. Well, the year had its own package and met every single human with surprise, for our daily lifestyle was altered.  No matter the shocker the year brought, the Lord is yet in control and He is the master of new things: Isaiah 43:18-19 “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wildernes...
