FEAR IS ABSENCE OF FAITH
Hebrews 3:19
So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.
The stumbling block to serving God is unbelief. Simple
Listen brethren, it is unbelief that causes us to fear. Yes.
For fear is the absence of faith, when we say fear, we are NOT talking of that feeling that grips you when you hear a loud bang, see a frightful figure or face a certain challenge. It is that fear that lingers on and begins to determine your course of actions.
See the fear of being poor has made so many go for money in evil ways. They doubt that the Lord will help them if they do the right thing.
Fear can bring about foolishness. "If you don't settle the lecturer you won't pass", that is a type of fear. It leads to sin.
Remember the tool of every enemy, especially the devil, is fear.
Do you know that fear brings about pride. It is fear that causes politicians to steal. THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN, an unhealthy competition.
Genesis 3:5-6
“God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and it's fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
Matthew 4:8-9
Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
“I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”
You may wonder what the two references have to do with fear. Truth is, it does. Ah! let me grab this now, I may not get another opportunity. If I follow God's way, I will loose out let me try an alternative. These are all statements of fear.
Hebrews 11:6
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Listen to Jesus:
Mark 4:40
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
FEAR IS ABSENCE OF FAITH!
This was the problem of the people of Israel after the left Egypt. They just couldn't let go of the bondage spirit. They chose FEAR instead of FAITH!
Hebrews 3:7-9
That is why the Holy Spirit says,
“Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts
as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.
There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.
They did NOT dwell on the power of God displayed, the overlooked the first hand miracles and decided to dwell on physical challenges. Glorifying the opposition above the Supreme God.
They were rejected and did not get God's rest:
Hebrews 3:11
So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”
It is a warning to us, we must NOT allow fear take us away from the Lord. We must remain faithful.
Hebrews 3:12-14
Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.
You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
For it is the faithful that will share in Christ's inheritance.
See the record of those who will not enter:
Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
For:
Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Oh help us Dear Father. Let everything that is NOT planted by you for good in our lives be uprooted today in the name of your Son Yeshua Hamashiach, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
He calls us blessed.
Love
