WE NEED GOD

Psalm 46:1

God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


We cannot get to the point when we feel that we do not need God anymore!


This is the worst state any human could be in.


Luke 12:19-21

And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’

“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”


The tendency to want to live without God is so tempting when it seems it is peace all around us.  So also when it seems there is trouble, we cannot afford to give in.

We must be wise and stay alert.


1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:


The enemy seeks to take our heart away from God. That was the aim when he persecuted Job. That is the reason for the persecution of believers. We must be tested, tried and proved.


Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?


As we go on this new year, let us reflect on how we have spent last year, how much of our living was under God's direction. Who influenced all that we did. Then, let us continue our plans this year putting God first, knowing that He is the one that gives us power to create wealth and also to do exploits. The beauty of these is that He adds no sorrow to it, so we have good health and peace. O what a loving Father.


As we expect God to take care of us, do we take care to hear, honour and follow Him? Selah


This year we will walk in His ways for we must prosper and excel. So help us Good Lord.


PRAYER 

Loving Father, we need You in every moment and in every hour, lead us this year by Your Spirit. We chose Your way Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


We have victory.

BY HIS MERCY

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. As we go on our christian journey challenges will surely arise. No one was promised a smooth sail.  1 Peter 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: However we must be encouraged to stay strong especially in those times when it seems we may want to fall or give up. Remembering that it is not an option. We have His mercy. THE MISERY OF THE DRUNKARD

Isaiah 28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty [is] a fading flower, which [are] on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Being drunk is an attribute related to losing control of one's mind due to the strong influence of a substance such as alcohol.
