DETRIMENTAL COMPETITION
Galatians 5:26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
As we go closer to the end of the year and are preparing for the coming year, there are things we need to take care of.
Are we striving with another trying to show that we are better, that we have more? This may be human nature but the man of the Spirit does not live this way. It is not wise!
2 Corinthians 10:12(NLT)
Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!
This really is not wise, many have taken wrong steps, made wrong decisions and spent on the wrong things just to keep up the competition.
It is like the illustration of the man who assumed he was driving against another, he kept on trying to prevent the other man (so he assumed) to overtake him only for him to see a few distance away, the man turned left and drove into his street. How foolish he looked when he discovered that they had different destinations.
What or who are we competing with that has made us work up ourselves so much? What a waste. Our eyes should be focused on Christ. We should concentrate on our own assignment, our own family and fulfill our own purpose.
Yes we learn from others, we take caution from their mistakes and improve ourselves from their exploits, however we must beware of envy and unhealthy competitions.
So one thing we must do away with this year is unhealthy competitions they are detrimental to our spiritual growth and also our true prosperity. It carries with it other evil vices such as gossips, backbiting, envy, jealousy, covetousness etc. Emancipate yourself. Be free of all these.
The Spirit will lead us alright.
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father, I let go of every detrimental competition and any character or habit that does not please You. Help me Lord to finish this year clean and continue in the new year renewed and going from glory to glory, even in all good things. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
