ACQUIRING WEALTH

Ecclesiastes 5:12

The sleep of a labouring man [is] sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.


At these times when acquiring wealth seems to be a drive for many. We have also to be careful, that we actually labour righteously and not be entangled with the negative influence of the desire for wealth.


Luke 18:22-24

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!


1Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.


Do we say that the child of God should not possess wealth, NO, however character must be built. It is essential to be prepared for every level one gets in life. There is always a process and that process prepares you for your next level. That you may not crash.


To him much is given, much is expected.


When you desire to have so much, remember that you also have to be ready for the responsibility that comes with it.


Then the question:


WHEN IS IT ENOUGH?


1 Timothy 6:8

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.


He then writes:


1Timothy 6:9

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.


Glory to God.

If the Lord is the One who gave You the assignment He will surely provide all You need for it!


So as the Lord blessed us with wealth, may it bring us closer to Him and not take us away from Him. Amen.


PRAYER

Loving Father, as You bless me with wealth, may nothing take a higher position than You Heavenly Father in my life. I enjoy wealth in health, holiness, peace and without blemish or sorrow. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

THE MISERY OF THE DRUNKARD

Isaiah 28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty [is] a fading flower, which [are] on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Being drunk is an attribute related to losing control of one's mind due to the strong influence of a substance such as alcohol. There was a woe against the drunkards of Ephraim as we see in Isaiah 28, the rebuke was more on priests, prophets and leaders: Isaiah 28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble [in] judgment.
