A BETTER COVENANT

Psalm 3:3

But thou, O LORD, [art] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Do we know that we have received a better covenant, a greater glory than those in the old testament?

Are we really taking advantage of this?

David was a man who understood how to enjoy fellowship with God. It was a handful of men over the years of the old testament period who understood what it was to fellowship with God. Others saw God as away, unreachable and fellowship was "non-communical" yet in all they cannot compare with the fellowship we have today in God.

Jesus talked about the wealthy decoration and wisdom of Solomon and then declared "a greater than Solomon is here"

If only we understand what we have.

Philemon 1:6

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:19

And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

A greater power, a greater glory, a better inheritance.

See what those before us faced:

Can we face these trials?

Can we be taken captive as a slave? (Joseph)

Can we roam around as a fugitive in the wilderness? (David)

Can we resist the king's meat, can we risk the lion's den? (Daniel)

Can we risk being thrown into superheated fire (Daniel's three friends)

Can we risk being thrown into jail, beaten in the streets, stoned, insulted, ridiculed or scorched? (the disciples of Christ)

Yet we claim to have a greater revelation, a higher glory. Selah

For truly:

2Timothy 3:12

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I love the Lord, He said He will not give us more than what we can bear, and for every temptation there is a way of escape. Glory to God.

Every challenge we face is for our good and we will always come forth triumphant, only if we refuse to be carried away in the flesh.

Every tribulation is for a short while, we will soon rejoice in victory.

1 Peter 5:10-11

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].

To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

He said we will never go through it alone:

Psalms 91:15

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

*I will be with them in trouble!

We have a better covenant, we enjoy a glorious fellowship in the spirit, great power is available to us. May we make the most of it.

PRAYER

Loving Father, thank You for the greater covenant we have in Christ Jesus, being called into sonship to enjoy the riches of Your grace. A better glory O thank You Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
