YOU SHOULD BLESS
Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.
Definitely we feel pain and hurt when we are wronged, betrayed or hurt. More painful if it comes from a loved one.
The bible makes it seem so hard to use the flesh and rightfully so, for when we ought to think of revenge, scripture says we should bless!
Betrayal tears at the heart and the easiest thing to do is to wish evil for the one who hurt us. We could be tempted to curse with outspoken words or in our heart.
Today we are reminded to bless and not to curse.
Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Luke 6:28
"bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
Romans 12:19
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
It is not that it is easy to do, however the Holy Spirit is there to help us.
That is why He came to live inside of us.
[If you are reading this and yet to receive, Yeshua Hamaschiac, Jesus the Christ as your Lord and Saviour. The struggle continues. Why not let Him have control. We will still stand before Him. Let us meet him as friends not as one who rejected Him. "John 15:15"]
Do you know that if the evil we wish or speak as a curse manifests on those we see at a point in time as an enemy, it won't increase our joy.
What if that one really does repent, with regret of the wrong done and seeks your forgiveness.
Do we see why it is wise to follow the Spirit's counsel.
Matthew 5:44
"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
We are not here to destroy people in the world, no we are ambassadors of Christ, He came to deliver, release the captive, give sight to those who are spiritually blind and unite us to the Father. These should also be our purpose, if we are truly His.
May, LOVE, which is the first character of the Holy Spirit and whose name God bears overtake us that we will BLESS and not curse. No matter how much we are hurt
1John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
Let us train ourselves to it, the Character of God in us must be built up.
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We will fulfil it, yes we will bless and not curse.
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father, help me at all times and in all situations to keep Your character which is built in me by Your Spirit. May I bless and not curse that the abundance which is Your love and power may be revealed in all that I think, say or do. Help me Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
