DON'T SINK, STAY AFLOAT

 Matthew 14:31

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

We can look at the world and all its issues as a big sea which each of us have to walk on. Every step we take leads us forward progressively to fulfil our goals and to accomplish our purpose.

The dictionary defines "afloat" as:

"making successful progress under one's own steam."

We as believers cannot afford to sink, no, more still when we serve a God that is above all and has all!

However, there are things we need to do to keep us afloat, they include:

* Stay light:
get rid of all unnecessary burden of sin, guilt, hate, tribalism, religions, jealousy, backbiting,  worry and so on.

Romans 13:12 - 14
The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

* Focus on Jesus

Hebrews 12:2
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

* Put on our air bag

 Ephesians 6:13
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [STAND!!! afloat]

2Corinthians 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

* Make sure our airbag has air in it: we need to be filled!!! with the right content . . . the Spirit

Ephesians 5:18b
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

* Know when to stay in the boat

Hebrews 10:25
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaches

Then especially for us in deep evangelical work:

If Jesus didn't send you please don't go.

Also,

No matter how much we have fallen, we don't run away from God, instead we run to Him for mercy. We stay with our local assembly unless of course they have strayed away from God and true doctrine.

Peter came out of the boat because the Lord gave Him the go ahead to come, else he had no business leaving the boat.

Secondly, as long as he kept his focus on Christ he walked successfully on the sea, but the moment he took his eyes off he began to sink! Selah

STAY IN THE BOAT! KEEP YOUR EYES ON HIM!

I see us staying afloat as we march on this year.

We will not sink but stay above in this world.

We will finish this journey and be welcomed home by Jesus the Christ.

PRAYER
Loving Father, I will not sink, I will stay afloat by the power of your Holy Spirit. I will be steady that I will be strong enough to keep many afloat. Help me Good Lord. Yes You have helped me. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
