UNDERSTANDING PRAYERS

When you pray, remember what Jesus said:


Matthew 21:22

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.


When we pray a lot of activities take place, we need to remember that we pray to change things. Just like the prayer of Jabez. Do we also understand that when we change a part, the other part is automatically affected.


The change we provoke from our prayers may impact another person and their prayers or normal lifestyle or even their destiny.


We must not pray amiss. Selah!


Take the case of the sons of Zebedee:


Matthew 20:20 & 21

Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping [him], and desiring a certain thing of him.

And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.


What a request? How many seats are there at that position, what of others more qualified than them?


Well we may all attack her as selfish, in fact, the other disciples were not happy with them.


It is an illustration of requests that affect other things or other people.


It is therefore always good to pray along the Father's will, Jesus did the same, He said: "not my will, but yours . . ."


1 John 5:14-15  

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.


This is a true sign of submission. "According to His will"


Are you expecting great things this year? The Lord may have already answered, though it may not have been exactly the way you expected it. Wait for it.


However, remember:


Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.


So does any delay or expectation want to take away your joy, and make you not able to join in thanksgiving? Do not give it room, because the Lord heard you, the delay would be for your good.


God would work it out. He keeps all things balanced, the way He keeps the universe balanced.


Rejoice brethren. 


The blessings are flowing down.

PRAYER

Loving Father, help me understand Your plans and ways when I pray, that I will not lose faith or give up hope. My prayers are answered by You for You are my Father who knows all things. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

DO YOU STILL SEE?

DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us?
