What are you doing?

Matthew 24:46

"Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.

Year after year, we hear of the coming of the Lord, people have even gone ahead to predict dates and times and yet all have failed.

Matthew 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

The apostles expected His return too and more than two thousand years after that we still expect His return.

Many have sacrificed their lives, that others may be saved, they also wait.

Revelations 6 : 9 & 10
When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

What of our fathers of old who lived faithfully? They also wait.

The question is while we wait, what is expected of us? What are we supposed to be busy doing?

Our work!

Everyone was created for a purpose.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We work, fulfilling that which God created us for, all our schooling, education, training, experience and study is to perfect that which God has already "purposed" for us.

When the bible says wait, it is not in idleness but in doing the good work. Everyone who was recorded in scriptures as being God's own, were known for their work. Even Jesus the Christ.

John 5:17
But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."

See, even God is working!

So no idle waiting. I have always known that no one of God is permitted to be lazy, no. Every one of God's people in scriptures were hard workers, efficient, diligent and no fault was found in their work.

One of the major maturity of a man is discovering his work and then accomplishing it.

There is a need to sit and ask ourselves:

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Let us remember that the day we leave this world, Christ has already come for us, so studying time and season to know when He will return is not wisdom. We should be busy at the work He has sent us to do.

What is your work for:

the church?

your family?

humanity?

God?

May we be called the good and faithful servants. True children and not just sayers alone but doers.

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER
Loving Father help me find and do my work. Make me profitable for You, the church and the world. I represent You here on earth. I will be a true ambassador. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
