WE ARE HOLY

2Timothy 3:5

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

(ERV)  They will go on pretending to be devoted to God, but they will refuse to let that "devotion" change the way they live. Stay away from these people!

(GNB)  they will hold to the outward form of our religion, but reject its real power. Keep away from such people.

I have experienced some who claim to have holiness or be holy but they actually think of the law.

Now that is where they get it wrong. The law isn’t to help you to be holy but to let you know that you need to be helped to be holy, because this is what holiness entails.

The law isn’t evil just like the criminal code being used in a court of law, it doesn’t help you stay away from evil but let you know what is evil and the punishment for it.

We as believers according to Jesus live in a realm higher than the law. That is, we don’t disobey the law but we live higher than the restriction of the law. We have gone ahead to receive power to please God out of the love (the fruit of the Spirit) and grace. Read these verses:

Matthew 5:17-20

"Don't ever think that I came to set aside Moses' Teachings or the Prophets. I didn't come to set them aside but to make them come true.

I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from Moses' Teachings before everything has come true.
So whoever sets aside any command that seems unimportant and teaches others to do the same will be unimportant in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches what the commands say will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I can guarantee that unless you live a life that has God's approval and do it more faithfully than the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

There is a need to understand this truth.

John 1:17 & 18

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

When you play around the law you get entangled in self adjusted mockery and delusions:

* you accuse others of stealing, yes you don’t steal but you lie

* you accuse others of being fornicators yet although you don’t fornicate, you have hatred and malice in your heart.

* you accuse others of not being faithful at work but you are not faithful at home

The blame game keeps going on and on, it is pure deceit.

But when you come to Christ Jesus He empowers you to live the real liberty empowering you by His Holy Spirit, not to live a life of continual guilt and conscience battle, but that of love which is the character of God.

Sin is defeated and all that pertains to it. You know who you are!

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(GNB)  There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus.

(BBE)  For this cause those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners.

It is important to know that at conversion many believers are not taught this truth, and many live in struggles.

The enemy then begins to mess around with their mind. He did it with all the great men of bible times: Moses, Noah, Joseph, David, Daniel even to Jesus the Christ when He came in the flesh. Everyone must face his/her own tests and temptation!

But one’s birthday is the moment they discover the truth and begin to live in it.

We are strangers to sin, we can unlearn what we have accumulated and learn of the kingdom we are in. Unless we are not yet of Christ.

Romans 12:1 & 2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Colossians 1:13

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

(GW)  God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son, whom he loves.

So we can see that God has helped us, may we not let ourselves down.

PRAYER
Loving Father You have given us grace and truth taking us away from the bondage of the law. We are no longer law breakers but holy in Christ Jesus for He is our righteousness. Preserve us in You O Lord, we will please You in all things. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
