START WITH GOD

2 Chronicles 1:2-3,6-7

Solomon called together all the leaders of Israel—the generals and captains of the army, the judges, and all the political and clan leaders.

Then he led the entire assembly to the place of worship in Gibeon, for God’s Tabernacle was located there. (This was the Tabernacle that Moses, the lord’s servant, had made in the wilderness.)

There in front of the Tabernacle, Solomon went up to the bronze altar in the Lord’s presence and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings on it.

That night God appeared to Solomon and said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”

You begin a new programme, start a new home, a new project, a new job, a new position, etc. My friend - "Start with God".

Solomon knew this and that is why he recorded:

Proverbs 3:5-6,8-10

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.

Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Listen, if you do not involve God, why would you want Him to interfere when you face the storms? Selah

If I am a child of God then I must let God guide my steps and when I begin anything I must put Him in control.

Sometimes (I am guilty of this too), we are too fast to rush off into it. No it shouldn't be so. Calm down, don't be faster than God.

You are not mediocre however you are also not careless.

The beauty of it all is that when He holds your hand through it, you cannot stay down He will lift you up. Glory.

Psalms 37:23-24

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. 

He delights in every detail of their lives.

Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

When you are of God you give, yes you bring the sacrifice, however the most important sacrifice is yourself.

Romans 12:1

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Then you also give of the substance He has blessed you with. To Him, how, by blessing those in need around you starting from your home. Then ofcourse to His work starting from your local assembly to the missionaries.

I am not talking about any of the cajoling and mammon acclaimed ministers that have infiltrated the church. No I am talking of those the Lord has placed around you to bless. Be spiritually wise. May we not sow into leaking baskets.

Then always remember that it doesn't end at "the start", but . . .

Ecclesiastes 7:8

Finishing is better than starting. 

Patience is better than pride.

It is not late, bring it to the Lord and let Him be glorified in all you do. (We must then avoid all that does not glorify Him!)

He will help us, keep us and give us victory. Glory.

PRAYER

Loving Father I commit all that concerns me into Your hands, lead me Lord, take control and help me do it right. I will neither fail, fall or falter, so help me Good Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
