THE RIGHT STEPS: a reminder
Genesis 28:7
And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram;
For a destination of success, we begin with the right steps. The contrasts between Jacob and Esau was in obedience and disobedience. We thus define our path by whom we choose to obey.
We see that the Lord is interested in those who would walk in obedience for that was the main reason Abraham was picked. To fit into the lineage, the same obedience must continue.
Today we have an open door, everyone has been called into the fold:
Jesus said He was the open door that anyone could come in and find pasture:
John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.
The same way NOT all that were born to Abraham followed the lineage of the promise also not all who claim they know Christ are of the promise - the key lies in obedience - following the path:
Luke 6:46
“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?
It is one thing to claim you are His, it is another to walk in His obedience.
1 Peter 2:21
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
Whose footsteps are you following?
What path are you threading?
That is the key, you can claim anything, but you must prove all things. Selah
Romans 14:12
Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.
Who or what are you hiding under? Hmm
Some hide under a denomination(church) or religion, a title, a prophet or..., past good deeds etc
Luke 8:17
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither [any thing] hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
The time will come when you will have to show what you are really made of. Thus we must get it right from the start.
Remember: Now is the start, yes today can be your start!
Luke 19:9
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
2 Corinthians 6:2
For God says,
“At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.”Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
That is the beauty of our Heavenly Father, He can allow you begin today. No matter how we got it wrong, we can yet get it right. Thank you Dear Lord.
However remember those under your care, they must be led through the path, they must walk in obedience. We should lead them aright. This is why the Lord chose Abraham, He chooses us today. We will not disappoint Him. So help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father help me walk in the rights steps continually. Lord I follow You, therefore I will not miss my way. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
