CONSPIRACY

2 Samuel 15:13-14,31

A messenger soon arrived in Jerusalem to tell David, “All Israel has joined Absalom in a conspiracy against you!”
“Then we must flee at once, or it will be too late!” David urged his men. “Hurry! If we get out of the city before Absalom arrives, both we and the city of Jerusalem will be spared from disaster.”
When someone told David that his adviser Ahithophel was now backing Absalom, David prayed, “O Lord, let Ahithophel give Absalom foolish advice!”

David had forgiven Absalom and showed him mercy for killing his son who was also Absalom's brother as a revenge for the evil act against Tamar.

How did Absalom repay him? He conspired to overthrow him and in so doing forced him out of the throne and the land.

David was not a stranger to running away from attack against his life, but this time it was from his own son.

Let us remember that David was still paying for the great abomination he did. However, as we discussed yesterday, the one used as a tool for this evil remains guilty! (Never be the tool for evil!)

What do we learn from these study.

1. Do not expect that everyone will return good to you for the good you do to them, love all but trust only God!

2. You do not wait to fight all the time, sometimes you need to flee

3. Never ever assume that you can escape the consequences of your ill actions, seek for mercy, however the best is always to prevent/avoid the evil act altogether.

4. When you are faced with conspiracy or any form of attack, do what you should always be doing daily, bring it to the Lord. Let Him take control and fight for you. Then listen for His direction on what to do.

Do not find yourself on the evil side, stay on the righteous side.

May God grant us wisdom and grace to live purely for Him. May we not fail Him in any way.

Those that rise against us shall fall because of us:

Isaiah 54:17
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!

God will help us.

PRAYER
Loving Father, You fight my battles and keep me safe from all that plot evil against me. Thank You Lord, please keep me from making wrong decisions, direct my steps O Lord that I will always be a winner. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
