1 Samuel 2:23-25,29

Eli said to them, “I have been hearing reports from all the people about the wicked things you are doing. Why do you keep sinning?

You must stop, my sons! The reports I hear among the Lord’s people are not good.

If someone sins against another person, God can mediate for the guilty party. But if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede?” But Eli’s sons wouldn’t listen to their father, for the Lord was already planning to put them to death.

So why do you scorn my sacrifices and offerings? Why do you give your sons more honor than you give me—for you and they have become fat from the best offerings of my people Israel!


Eli was a priest, serving God, his faithful service was not called to question. However, as was commanded, his sons were also servicing priests and they did abomination with the sacrifices brought to God. They also were defiling the women in the entrance of the tabernacle.


1 Samuel 2:22

Now Eli was very old, but he was aware of what his sons were doing to the people of Israel. He knew, for instance, that his sons were seducing the young women who assisted at the entrance of the Tabernacle.


Listen, serving the Lord does not mean you abandon your role as a parent, NO!


Infact your first converts and disciples should be your household, as you go ahead to minister to others.


No wonder Paul instructed:


Titus 1:6

An elder must live a blameless life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.


If we are to present a generation of faithful people to the Lord we need to start from the beginning, our seeds and dependants must be raised to honour and love the Lord. We must show them the right part.



We must bring them in prayer and teaching of the word, to know the right path, that they may please the Lord in all things, we cannot afford to fail in this.


Eli warned his children but he wasn't firm enough, he seems to have left it for too late.


Let us learn from his error that we might not build a generation that is meant for destruction.


What is the condition of your household today? Are you sure that all are saved, are all walking the right path?


Save your generation. Begin now.


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER

Loving Father my generation will praise Your name, none will be lost, help me Good Lord. I build a lineage that remains faithful to You. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
