REMEMBER HIM
Numbers 29:39-40
“You must present these offerings to the Lord at your annual festivals. These are in addition to the sacrifices and offerings you present in connection with vows, or as voluntary offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, liquid offerings, or peace offerings.”
So Moses gave all of these instructions to the people of Israel as the Lord had commanded him.
So much offerings for different occasions at different times. Daily offerings, Sabbath offering, monthly offering, Passover offering, harvest offering, trumpet offering etc. The list continues.
All these seems like a burden, however, they helped to keep Israel in remembrance of who gives them all the blessings and who they are committed to.
Today as believers we give our whole lives. All we have is offered to the Lord beginning from our hearts.
Romans 12:1
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
At no point should we assume that we are sufficient in ourselves.
Have you experienced times when you have forgotten God? Yes I have. Those periods you have taken a decision or acted on a situation without considering what God expected from you or even sought for His direction.
Most of the times it leads to regret. There are things we cannot afford to get wrong even at the first attempt. We need the Lord in all these things.
How do we keep ourselves in remembrance of the Lord? By communion.
The Spirit is living in us, thus, we need to keep our spirit alife by continual offerings. We pray, worship, study the word and do other spiritual exercises. We must also give. Giving is an act of worship and it is obedience.
Remember what Christ said:
Matthew 6:21
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Remember the Lord.
Give Him your all. Don't hold anything back.
PRAYER
O Lord help us give our time, talent and treasures to You. May we remember You in all things that our life will be pleasing to You, a living sacrifice that You will always want us to be where You are. Glory to Your name Lord.
He has blessed us.
Love
