THE ANOINTING

Leviticus 8:12-13

Then he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head, anointing him and making him holy for his work.

Next Moses presented Aaron’s sons. He clothed them in their tunics, tied their sashes around them, and put their special head coverings on them, just as the Lord had commanded him.

Special preparation was made for the anointing of the priests, sacrifice, blood, oil and ofcourse time was spent:

Moses said:

Leviticus 8:34-36

Everything we have done today was commanded by the lord in order to purify you, making you right with him.

Now stay at the entrance of the Tabernacle day and night for seven days, and do everything the lord requires. If you fail to do this, you will die, for this is what the lord has commanded.”

So Aaron and his sons did everything the lord had commanded through Moses.

They needed to stay at the entrance of the tabernacle for seven days!

You don't jump into ministry, there are preparations to be made, this include teachings, prayers, anointing etc but this is only sealed when you are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:4-5,8

Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.

John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Christ had taught them, anointed them, prayed for them, however He said they should wait for the Holy Spirit, why? The reason was that He had to leave before the Holy Spirit was revealed.

John 16:7

But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.

Now the Holy Spirit is already revealed. Is He in every believer? Yes, He is the very mark of our salvation.

Ephesians 1:13

And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.

Is He manifest in every believer, NO!

The reason is that we do not give Him room!

Remember what God said through His prophet:

Hosea 4:6a

My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.

Remember when some believers said they had never heard of the Holy Spirit:

Acts 19:1-2

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers.

“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.“No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

So ignorance can well be an issue, we have believers today who say they believe in God and Christ but not the Holy Spirit.

We also have those who believe but do not give the Holy Spirit room to lead them.

They receive instructions but do not comply, the keep rejecting till the Spirit becomes quiet in them. Also sin and bad character can also silence God's Spirit in us - we grieve the Spirit!

Isaiah 63:10

But they rebelled against him and grieved his Holy Spirit.

So he became their enemy and fought against them.

Ephesians 4:30

And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

So for ministry you must be ordained, the Holy Spirit must be active in you and you must receive the "unction to function".

Enough of untrained, canal and non-unctioned individuals groups taking up the space and making a mess of the faith.

Some ought to be categorized and put in the place of apostates for they have left the calling of Christ and followed strange and mundane things including fame, money and relevance.

The disgusting part is that some of them are already televised and many are on the different social media.

Ofcourse it was prophesied:

2 Timothy 3:1-2,5,8

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.

What are we to do?

Know God for yourself, be ready to teach, ensure you are filled with Spirit. Stop jumping from one assembly to another looking for miracles, signs and wonders. Serve the Lord God!

True ministers, teachers and leaders - train your people, teach right, don't just make anyone a leader, ensure that they are mature enough, filled with the Spirit and have the humility and submissiveness to be led by God's Spirit.

Listen, it is a serious matter, the corruption in the world is reaching a critical stage, we cannot afford to have same in the church.

Are you anointed?

God have mercy on us.

It is time to get it right.

Don't take the anointing for granted!

We will win.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher.
