CLEAN and UNCLEAN
Leviticus 11:43-44,46-47
Do not defile yourselves by touching them. You must not make yourselves ceremonially unclean because of them.
For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.
“These are the instructions regarding land animals, birds, marine creatures, and animals that scurry along the ground.
By these instructions you will know what is unclean and clean, and which animals may be eaten and which may not be eaten.”
The Lord expects those who will come to Him, to be holy.
Holiness has to do with separation, being apart from whatever it is that will make you unholy.
We see Moses list various animals as unclean, not good for eating, furthermore touching them makes one ceremonially unclean.
Has this instructions changed? Science has shown that most of these animals are not good for food, most of them either have high unhealthy fat or/and could cause some health challenges.
However Jesus clarified what makes a person unclean:
Matthew 15:11
It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”
As we watch what we eat as physical food we should be more careful of what we eat as spiritual food. We must guard our heart from unhealthy meals such as:
*false doctrines
*lies
*bitterness
*hatred
*envy
etc
The food we feed our heart will determine if we have life or we have death.
Proverbs 4:23-24
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.
The same way we must change our diet for healthy living we must change our spiritual diet for healthy spiritual living.
Ephesians 4:30-32
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
This is necessary for effective prayers and ability to hear from God. For if You grieve God's Spirit in you, how then can He lead and direct you?
Let us check ourselves, what do we need to be cleansed from, what do we need to take off, what do we need to put on?
Ephesians 4:22-25,29
throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.
Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
The Lord is coming for a clean church, a people that are without blemish, are you part of them?
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
