THE ALTAR

Exodus 30:6-8

Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—that covers the tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there.

“Every morning when Aaron maintains the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar.

And each evening when he lights the lamps, he must again burn incense in the lord’s presence. This must be done from generation to generation.


What do the incense and sacrifice signify today. What do we do on the altar? The book of Psalms points us to it:


Psalm 141:2 (kjv)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee [as] incense; [and] the lifting up of my hands [as] the evening sacrifice.


We no longer offer animal sacrifice neither do we burn incense or do all the other rituals which were shadows of things to come because they were all fulfilled in Christ Jesus.


Anyone still doing them is only trying to play a religious pattern, as we saw days ago, Christ did it once and for all.


Where is our altar now?


The alter is characterized by, prayer, offering and praise

The incense signifies the prayers of saints.


On the alter is also blood, we know that Christ blood settled it, no other blood counts anymore.


Psalms 118:22-24,26-27

The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see.

This is the day the lord has made. 

We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. 

We bless you from the house of the Lord.

The Lord is God, shining upon us. 

Take the sacrifice and bind it with cords on the altar.


On the altar we also have worship and meditation.


As God instructed:

The Psalmist sings:


Psalms 104:33-34

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. 

I will praise my God to my last breath!

May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.


So do you have an altar, your place of prayer, meditation and worship?


Every altar is registered to the one altar which is in the temple of God in heaven. Remember the Lord has His throne above and also His altar, what was built on earth was just a replica of what is in heaven.


Our body is His temple and our place of prayer not literally but from the heart is where our altar is.


Revelation 8:3

Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God’s people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne.


Every leader at home, in church, or any gathering of believers must raise an altar. It is from this altar that they offer sacrifices of praise, prayers and worship to God. It is also from here that war is set against the enemies. For that which is pleasant savour to the Lord is destructive on the enemy.


Awake! Keep your altar alive.


Help is Good Lord.


He calls us blessed.

NEVER TAKE REVENGE!

Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge;I will pay them back,” says the lord. Offences would surely come as we continue our journey here on earth. One thing we must learn to do is never to act when we are angry. Almost one hundred percent of the time, if we reflect on it, we find that we regret our actions. It is not that we do not get angry, the bible teaches that even when we do, it should not lead us to sin.
