PUT ON THE PROPER GARMENT

Exodus 28:2-3

Make sacred garments for Aaron that are glorious and beautiful.

Instruct all the skilled craftsmen whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom. Have them make garments for Aaron that will distinguish him as a priest set apart for my service.

The Lord instructed that special clothings be made for Aaron and also another set for his sons to distinguish them as priests for Him.

They needed to adorn this clothings to be able to serve as priests to God thereby being able to worship.

Exodus 28:4-5

These are the garments they are to make: a chestpiece, an ephod, a robe, a patterned tunic, a turban, and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother, Aaron, and his sons to wear when they serve me as priests.

So give them fine linen cloth, gold thread, and blue, purple, and scarlet thread.

It was very important to God that these clothes be made with a special design.

Notice two descriptions of the garments:

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Who are the priests today?

1 Peter 2:9

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Every believer is a priest!

We must have our special garments on, to be able to worship the Heavenly Father.

Not the physical garment that the priests of the old testament wore but - 

Ephesians 4:24(kjv) 

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

We must put on the garment of righteousness.

Job 29:14

Everything I did was honest. 

Righteousness covered me like a robe, and I wore justice like a turban.

Job 29:14(kjv)

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment [was] as a robe and a diadem.

Romans 13:14

Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

We must have the right clothing to enter the presence of the Lord.

Since we are to be in His presence continually we must have our garments on at all times.

Enough of walking around with filthy garments yet wanting to have God's presence that way. Let us not be deceived, with all the mega meetings, praying cycles, big gatherings or churches, only those with the right garments will experience God.

Christ gave a parable, in it He said:

Matthew 22:11-14

“But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.

‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply.

Then the king said to his aides, ‘Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

It is a serious business, we must put on the right clothing.

Are your garments stained or are you wearing the wrong garments. The Lord has salvation for You, come to Him. See the testimony of Jeshua the high priest:

Zechariah 3:1-7

Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua.

And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”

Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel.

So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.”

Then I said, “They should also place a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the lord stood by.

Then the angel of the Lord spoke very solemnly to Jeshua and said,

“This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here.

Glory to God.

Come to Him who cleanses while there is still time.

Let go of those terrible characters of sin, be it lust, envy, hatred, malice, wickedness, non-forgiveness, tribalism, racism, and all forms of iniquity.

Remember what God said:

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the lord. 

“Though your sins are like scarlet, 

I will make them as white as snow. 

Though they are red like crimson, 

I will make them as white as wool.

Dear Heavenly Father unclothe us from every evil or wrong garments, please put on us Your priestly garments that we may worship You in Spirit and truth and that no fault be found in us.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
