ONCE AND FOR ALL
Exodus 29:42
“These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord’s presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you.
As we said yesterday, the daily sacrifice had to be done everyday but Christ came to make the sacrifice once and for all.
Hebrews 10:10-12
For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.
But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Religion tries to bring back all those old practices, it is an accumulation of the unnecessary for all have been fulfilled in Christ Jesus.
We cannot keep trying to validate ourselves, Christ has validated us, we are to hold on to that validation. The work is our heart.
Our duty now is to live the life we have in Christ.
Our preparation is the preparation from the heart, just as Jesus said:
Matthew 15:19-20a
For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
These are what defile you
Our daily sacrifice today is our body! Our heart must be kept clean to be able to enter God's holy place.
Romans 12:1
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
We must be prepared now and again to enter His presence, we are not to be caught off guard.
Yes, there are a lot of distractions in our world today, we are to keep focused. We must always find time to refresh ourselves in the Lord's presence.
Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
So Christ did it once and for all, we must not spend the whole time and energy making an outside preparation, we should take care of the inside, that is where the battle is. Consider this: that is where the Spirit resides!
John 14:17,20,23
He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.
This is finished work of Christ.
Glory to God.
The Lord give us more understanding.
He calls us blessed.
Love
