THE JOURNEY
Genesis 12:1,7,9
The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.
Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your descendants.” And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
Then Abram continued traveling south by stages toward the Negev.
When I read these verses I am more convinced that the directive to leave was given even while Terah was alive:
"The Lord HAD said to Abram . . . "
However we see that Terah stopped at Haran, and there events took place including his death, Abram continued the journey.
Every journey has it's challenges, however to get to the destination, you have to keep the destination in mind.
The journey itself is as important as the destination!
Take for instance the journey everyone of us is taking, the destination is eternal life. God did not create us for death, sin brought about death.
In Christ Jesus we have the opportunity for eternal life once again.
John 11:25
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
So, no matter the little journey we take here on earth, we must not compromise the main journey.
He who will give us victory in the main journey will also give us victory in the little journeys. Is it in your career, education, business, ministry, family or job you are destined to excel, let the Lord take control.
Ecclesiastes 3:11a
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
Glory to God forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
