THE BEGINNING

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The very first book of the bible starts with the revelation of the creation of the earth from the Heavenly Father to Moses.

It may seem simple to read but understanding may not be that simple, for out of it come forth strong questions, asked by believers and unbelievers alike.

Such as "What is darkness?"

Genesis 1:2

The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Genesis 1:2 (kjv)

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:2 (the message)

Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.

Darkness as I taught sometime ago is emptiness, the absence of light.

Is darkness then evil, it now depends on what angle you are taking it.

That is not the discussion for today.

We are talking of "the beginning", in that concept we see God starting creation with a void, an emptiness.

This is so much like us when we begin something new. It all looks empty (dark), all the contents are yet in our mind, we then need to bring them to light.

Genesis 1:3

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

A lot of ministers have talked on this - "speaking things to be". It goes beyond this, you have to have it to give, God was light that is why He could speak light to be.

When we go down the chapter, we see God speak and also create with His hands.

Listen, the beginning is always the darkness/emptiness, even if you feel you inherited a lot and thus have an upper hand. Remember that many started with a supposed plenty and lost it all.

We must introduce the light as God did, speaking things to be and working with our hands.

Remember light/illumination is knowledge. Without knowledge you may not be filling the void but making it deeper. Selah

What are you beginning today, what have you begun and it seems to be in that void/darkness? God's light is about to shine through you to make your creation complete.

Genesis 1:31

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

Psalms 1:3

They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.

Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

He calls us blessed.
