A PROSPEROUS NATION IS FROM GOOD LEADERSHIP
1 Peter 5:2-4
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.
Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.
And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.
If all in the nation saw their opportunity of authority, at whatever level, as a duty to God. What a beautiful nation we will have.
We have people being sworn in with the symbol of their faith, however, do they have God in their hearts? For if they do, they would not swear with their mouth and then go ahead to act with an evil heart.
That makes it more evident that religion is man-made!
For many claim to have religion but they do not have the Living God in them.
So many symbols, glorified places, exalted beings but no love.
1 John 4:7-8
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
For religion remains a sham till we find God and "God is love".
Still on religion, many hide behind it to commit atrocities, with it they divide the people and hide under it's cover to steal that which belongs to the people. Other vices yet remain, racism, tribalism, politics, exploitation etc.
Leadership especially in democracy is service!
How many leaders serve?
Luke 12:42-46
And the Lord replied, “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.
If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.
I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.
But what if the servant thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?
The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful.
No human was created to lord it over another, however, when you are given the opportunity to hold authority it is a privilege that gives you more that you may be able to serve others. It is a place of honour that must not be dishonoured.
What of the people?
Leadership begins from oneself. The first person any human is to lead is themselves. When you get this right, you can then talk of leading a family, a group of community then a nation.
Many who complain of bad leadership in the higher levels, have not led well themselves in the lower levels.
As we remember a country in independence today, we should each look into ourselves and ask how we have contributed to the well being of the nation and our community.
Are we part of the success no matter how little it is, or are we part of the failure no matter how big it is?
For we can pray all we want but:
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
We cannot walk in disobedience and expect the Lord to applaud us. No!
The above verse was what God told Solomon at the dedication of the temple.
Yes you could go to any spiritual site, it is not the site that matters but the heart that comes. Selah
May we get wisdom in our nation. May we really seek God.
Yes, we know that all things would not be perfect till Christ fully takes over leadership on earth. However, we live in the here and now. We must do our time.
So help us Good Lord.
We see better things ahead. In all, we are more than conquerours, we win.
Glory to God forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
