LEAD ARIGHT
John 16:13
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
When Jesus said that those born of the flesh are flesh and those born of the Spirit are spirit. He spoke of the kind of life we would live day after day. It is a hard thing to be led by those who do not have the Spirit.
The same way it is great to have a gifted, talented and intelligent boss who knows how to take decision, the same way every leader must know what is to be done at every point in time. If God is leading a lot of errors could be avoided.
Thus it is good for a leader to be grounded in God's word, prayerful and a good listener. For if you are hard on listening, it is unlikely that you will hear the Spirit!
Remember: The first person you lead is YOURSELF!
How difficult it is to be led by those who are moved by their feelings, emotions or the atmosphere of the moment. Those under them tend to suffer.
Let us take a look at Saul:
1Samuel 14:24, 27 & 29
And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying, "Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies." So none of the people tasted food.
But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath; therefore he stretched out the end of the rod that was in his hand and dipped it in a honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his countenance brightened.
But Jonathan said, "My father has troubled the land. Look now, how my countenance has brightened because I tasted a little of this honey.
And they won the battle that day.
Note: This is not to encourage rebellion or disobedience.
Jonathan had no idea his father had made that decree. There is always a time and place for everything. When the Spirit is not leading we tend to fall for what seems to be. Most times the people under us suffer for it.
Everyone who is leading and aspires to lead in whatever sphere, must decide to stay under the direction of God's Spirit even if we do err we stand and go on again.
Psalms 37:23-24
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.
It is weakness to be carried away by what seems. The strong see beyond the storm. That is why they can do exploits.
I see God's guidance.
I see purposeful leadership.
Our children would be led aright.
Our homes will stand strong.
Things will fall positively into place.
It is a wonderful and pleasant day.
He calls us blessed
Love
