WHEN TO SPEAK - PROPHESY

1Corinthians 14:39

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

As we go closer to the end of this year, we are reminded to speak, not just a careless use of words, NO, but to prophesy!

1Corinthians 14:1
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.

For when those who ought to speak refuse to speak in due season or if they are forced to keep silent, then they force God's hand and the repercussion is that things happen unexpectedly that lead to not a good outcome, let us see the example of king Belshazzar in the book of Daniel:

Daniel 5:25
And this [is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

Why a writing on the wall, because the prophets were silent. The palace had been turned to a place of entertainment.

Why did it have to take the older queen to tell Belshazzar's about Daniel, some believe he was not a direct son of Nebuchadnezzar. Whatever the case, this young man had clouded his reign with merrying and drinking, there was no room for caution, no place for instruction, direction or wisdom.

When times like this come, the hand of the Lord appears and the repercussion in those days were terrible. We have records of:

* Hand writing on the wall leading to the overthrow of government and death of the incubent.
* Worms eaten up the king who dared to take God's glory.
* Ground opening and swallowing up people, who rebelled against God's own.
* Slaying of thousands etc.

Every child of God needs to be in tune with the Father for direction and for instruction. In the old times men of God did not act till they heard what God had to say.

See Jehoshephat;

1Kings 22:7
And Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

David was like that, even Moses and others who served God.

Today it is much better, we carry God's Spirit within us. The spirit of prophesy has been released, every believer can be a channel of prophesy. That was why after the resurrection the bible recalls the prophesy:

Acts 2:18
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

In the church the mouth of the prophets must speak. As scriptures says, it must be without confusion, orderliness must be ensured, that is why writing down is very important.

These prophesies ought to be recorded, kept in record, prayed over.

Are you the head of a family, prophesy speak into your home. You must prophesy what God is saying to your family, what He wants to do and where He is taking you.

Are you the head of "these or that", prophesy, get the mind of God. Leadership is not just a title but responsibility and of course accountability.

Whether you get the urge or not, prophesy. Whether by an auction or by the word. Prophesy.

You may not be able to prophesy beyond the word of God you know: Therefore eat the word, day after day.

Speak as this year ends, speak into the end of the year. Speak into the coming year. Release that power, set things in motion.

Prophesy.

God bless you.

Love
@ the watcher.
