A CONTINUOUS WALK
Philippians 1:6,9-11
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.
For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
The Christian walk is a lifelong one, it doesn't have breaks, or holidays or retirement, it is the life itself.
Ephesians 5:15-17
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
It is not an "off and on" switch, you stay faithful because you actually became:
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
This Paul reminds the church at Philippi, and is also a reminder for us. We are who we are in Christ Jesus not just at the moment we believe but all our lives, our birth in the Spirit brings us into a life that we must live and bear fruit of, Glory to God.
Philippians 1:6
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
It is not just a one time experience, it is a lifetime of experience. It is not that brief exciting feeling at the point of salvation, or that programme, crusade or gathering, it is a continuous experience alone with Him and also with other brethren, again and again. A lifetime of dwelling in Him that we will yet dwell in Him. Halleluyah.
Luke 18:30
will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.”
Glory to God.
So let's go ahead to grow in faith, knowledge and understanding of our Heavenly Father, revealed only through His Word, Jesus the Christ, bearing fruit day after day.
Philippians 1:9
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.
And by His power may we get our priorities right, knowing what really matters, that we remain fruitful till Christ returns:
Philippians 1:10
For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love

Amen
