CHOOSE WISELY

Hebrews 4:1

God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it.

From creation man is given a choice and it has always been about life and death. Let us look at it in scriptures:

Genesis 2:16-17

But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”

Deuteronomy 30:14-15

No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.

Hebrews 4:2-3

For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.

For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,

“In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”even though this rest has been ready since he made the world.

We must choose wisely, we must choose life if we are to live. The choice is between life and death we must choose life.

Thus condemnation comes when we refuse to accept salvation in Christ Jesus:

John 3:18-19

“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

Choice!

As I love to describe it, you have the privilege of doing whatever you please, BUT you may have no power over the consequences.

As we go through this year choices will be open to us, it is wisdom to pray and listen that the Spirit of the Lord will lead us to make the right ones. For once we put our trust in Him, He will guide us through the right path.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
