THE WRONG DRIVING FORCE
Matthew 26:15-16
and asked, “How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver.
From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
You may not be able to control the thoughts that prompt on your mind, they are so many sources of initial thoughts, they could be what you hear, see, or even the enemy dropping things. However, you can control what you retain.
See most times they just don't come, they keep building over time till they have a strong hold.
The chorus of the song "slow fade" by Casting Crowns, comes to mind:
*It's a slow fade
When you give yourself away
It's a slow fade
When black and white have turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices made
A price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day*
The enemy as Christ revealed had dropped the thought of betrayal in the mind of Judas, well it was up to him to accept or reject.
James 4:7
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
See brethren our humility is to the Heavenly Father and not to the devil or powers of darkness. It is not just about shouting at them. WE DO NOT GIVE THEM ROOM AT ALL. No vacancy.
You can shout at the powers of darkness all you want but if you submit to their antics what is the gain?
Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.
Our humility towards God is about love and obedience, this is what Paul was writing about in Romans 12:1-2
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Our thought life is where the battle begins and where it is won. For you cannot separate faith from thoughts, it takes thinking to believe.
If you win the thought battle, you have won all the battles. Selah
2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
For many today have their foundation on the wrong premise, we could judge Judas and say "he loved money", but as scriptures teaches we judge ourselves also.
WHAT WAS THE MOTIVATION THAT YOU BEGAN WITH, OR YOU MAY HAVE BEGAN WITH A GOOD MOTIVATION BUT HAVE DEVIATED TO SAME ERROR AS JUDAS. It is time to reset.
His motivation was money, but hey, what is your motivation in ministry? Are you not also controlled by love of money? Check.
I always warn that there is only one thing Christ compared service to God to:
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
What is your driving force? Is it the love of the Heavenly Father or *money, love of self, pride, fight for relevance, power?
What is separating you from the love of God?
Be set free today.
He calls us blessed.
