STRANGERS AMONG CHILDREN

Jude 1:16

These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.

When you read through the book of Jude from verses 12 to 16, you see a description of a set of people with terrible character who have infiltrated the church. Their character pointing to the fact that they do not love the Lord and the whole essence of their commitment is personal gain.

Jude 1:11

What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.

Most of them do not mind deceiving others, for there agenda is far away from that of the Lord. Their character is far from that which is the nature of the Holy Spirit, remember what Christ said:

Matthew 7:20

Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

They could be with you in fellowship, but their hearts are full of envy, some of them are elated when they hear evil of others. They even go as far as instigating it and later even help to broadcast it.

Jude 1:12a

When these people eat with you in your fellowship meals commemorating the Lord’s love, they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you.

Listen to some of the so called ministers before ministration begins and you wonder whose message they are going to deliver. The life inside and outside the pulpit should not contrast.

When giving positions of authority, they do not care for the people they ought to lead, instead they seek for their own gain. Just like the religious leaders in Jesus' time, they seek for relevance, gratification and self exultation. There is no love in them.

Jude 1:12b

They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots.

As we read through, the search light must first be beamed on us, are we culpable?

We remember Christ's coming, it was to show the Father's love - John 3:16. We cannot give contrary to what He gave.

Judgment comes for all who follow the wrong path, but complement to those of us who follow His path.

We are His children we must live like such. No one will lead us astray.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
