WHY WORRY?
Matthew 6:27
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
The answer of course is NO!
We are humans and there are certain things that are part of our human nature, they include worry and fear. Sometimes humans can take it too far and it becomes an ailment.
Worry comes when we look at the situations around us, the things we need to do or achieve. It could come from our responsibilities, people we have to take of, as little as what to eat or wear, or as much as how to pay our rent, bills or even business challenges. The truth is there could be legitimate reasons to worry and also feeble reasons.
Jesus teaches that our worry cannot change the situation. This is actually wisdom. All the worries, what do they solve?
When the worry stirs, what should be our response:
Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
That is the antidote, not that things that could cause us to worry will not come, no, however, when it comes do the antidote. Worship, give thanks, pray. The last part is guidance.
After He gives you peace and rest the Lord goes ahead to direct you on what next to do. The Holy Spirit takes control.
Yes, Christ Jesus said He will carry the load for you:
Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Peter re-emphasized this:
1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
So we ought NOT to stay in worry, that we will not become sick. The Lord has taught us that He will take over, giving us peace and rest. He will then tell us what to do.
So, LET IT GO.
Thank you Lord for caring for us.
He calls us blessed.
Love
