WINING AGAINST THE ENEMY

Matthew 4:10

“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,

‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

Three times our Lord resisted the enemy, then the third time He had to send him way. This same way we overcome. We resist the enemy so that he flees from us.

James 4:7

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Thus our victory lies in humility to the Heavenly Father, this then leads to the power to resist. Now using our Lord's temptations in the wilderness we understand these:

* We must be grounded in God's Word.

Psalms 119:11

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

* There is no price tag for our soul:

Mark 8:37

Is anything worth more than your soul?

* We focus on the eternal:

Yes, we have a life to live here, however, there is still a greater one after. For what people struggle for now consist mainly of vanity.

2 Peter 3:11

Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live,

We also need to remember that though he was sent away the enemy kept coming back in divers ways:

Luke 4:13

When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.

This is why some matured christians err, for they wrongly believe that they are above temptation they then let their guard down.

1 Peter 5:8

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Just like we see in Christ's temptation, the battle begins from the mind. So we fill our mind with the Word of God.

We are over-comers we must not fail. Christ won, so we win with His victory. Glory to God.

He calls us blessed.
