UNDERSTANDING THE BATTLE

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

The first step in winning a battle without hurting oneself is to understand the battle itself, for so many have plunged into things without understanding the real factors.

The greatest battle man fights is with the mind. Thus as a soul winner you go for the thoughts. Beginning in prayer you reach out with the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12.

Those who resist God do so out of reasoning, those who accept Him also have the basis from their reasoning, same with those who do right or wrong, those who invent things, those who are visionary and even those who are mediocre.

Proverbs 4:23

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Romans 2:15, 1:28

They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

It begins from the heart, the thoughts! Yes the thinking.

Knowing this, how do we live as believers? We trust in the Heavenly Father.

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

See all humans have been given the power of creation by default, see we were created in God's image, the whole trouble of man was Sin, that brought about death.  Thus you do not wonder why many do so many wonderful things and yet do not acknowledge God. The source of all Good things is from the Lord.

However it takes wisdom and knowledge to understand this source, thus when we see believers who boast of themselves or compare themselves with themselves, it is a wonder, for it is an attribute of foolishness.

2 Corinthians 10:17-18

As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”

When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.

Thus, one main character of the believer is humility, for we know where the power is.

The Spirit is given to us not to misbehave but actually to behave, remember that He has His nature. Galatians 5:22-23.

The Lord will give us more understanding.

We go forth to excel and in all fulfilling the will of the Lord.

He calls us blessed.
