BORN TO PRAISE (Psalm 149)

Psalm 149:1
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, [and] his praise in the congregation of saints.

The summary of our existence is to give God praise.

It does not mean making all the noise, disturbing the peace of others, or clubbing. No, it is praise that comes from the Spirit that provokes others to give God glory.

So I do not just praise because I sing a song, yes I sing with my heart and mouth, I sing with musical instruments however it goes beyond that. My very life style should provoke someone to give God praise. My life should be an instrument of praise.

See what Jesus said:

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Look at the same verse as translated in NLT:

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

So I cannot raise loud praise (noise!) in the presence of the brethren, then go out into the world and cause people to curse God because of my deeds.

Have you heard statements like, ",... and he says he is a Christian... " Away from mockery, if you cause anyone to speak this way, you are doing the opposite of praising God.

All things will come to an end, but the praise of our God is everlasting.

Psalm 149:4
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

We must always remember the reason for our salvation, elevation and priesthood it is for the praise of the Heavenly Father.

1 Peter 2:9
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

No matter what happens, how you feel or what the reports are. Give the Heavenly Father the praise.

For if you do not give God praise when things are okay with you, do you think it will be easy to give Him praise when things are not too good?

Psalm 149:5
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Praise Him while all is going smooth for you, it is not time to praise yourself or seek for your own glory, use the glory He gave you to glorify Him. Provoke people to give God praise. He will account it for you.

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

Are you a praise to the Heavenly Father, or are you a shame?

In the old testament we see God's people use praise to win battles. In the New Testament we see Paul and Silas use praise to win battles. That is what the psalmist is saying here:

Psalm 149:6
[Let] the high [praises] of God [be] in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

When we dwell in praise, we defeat the enemy and bring glory to God.

Psalms 149:6-9
Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands—to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains, to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones.
Praise the Lord!

As we approach a new year we can change our testimony. For it is not about what you used to be, but what you are now, and what you become. For... "the end is better than the beginning"..

So help us Good Lord.

Praise ye the Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
