ABOVE THE NOISE 2
We should be reminded that we live in a world that could be so noisy. A lot of sounds coming in from every corner.
The noise could even be from within us:
1Samuel 15:16
Then Samuel said to Saul, "Be quiet! And I will tell you what the LORD said to me last night." And he said to him, "Speak on."
For us to live in faith we should hear the voice of the Lord above all the noise.
Psalms 62:11
God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.
Jesus said His own will hear Him and thus they would follow Him, they would not follow another.
John 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
So many things seek our attention they could seem to be
* very important
* not that important
* a mere distraction
However we must let God's Spirit direct us.
As we go about our duties and roles, it is important to listen to the Father and He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit.
No wonder the character of the Holy Spirit is patience.
We must learn to patiently listen, for yes he would surely speak.
The love of God could seek your attention when you get so carried away or distracted, when you pay no attention or bother to listen to what He says.
Oh what pain, if we need crises to make God get our attention: It is never a sweet experience.
Some stay deaf to God till it is too late, and they have to leave the scene.
Luke 12:20
"But God said to him, 'You fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'
He was too busy acquiring wealth, he must have listened to the analysis, the forecasters, he may have had so many advisers, even spiritual contractors.
God could have been speaking but he wouldn't have heard, so much noise had taken over.
Funny enough when he had finally calmed down, he heard the voice but it was too late.
THIS IS NOT OUR TESTIMONY!
We will hear His voice even in the midst of all the noise around us.
We will do His will.
And ofcourse He will direct us to prosper and succeed.
Yes we will.
Have you read the word, have you worshipped, and have you prayed today? We must be consistent. The enemy doesn't rest.
