HOW HAVE YOU BUILT?
Matthew 7:27
And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house; and it came down and great was its fall.
Everyone who builds definitely plans for the rains. Physical structures built for living fall under this category.
The foundation is always the primary concern and ofcourse the first to be constructed. Thus every effort must be made to have a good anchor, a very solid ground.
We as believers know that there is only one true ground, where we can build a good foundation and He is Jesus the Christ.
1Corinthians 3:11
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ
Life has its own rains and Jesus has assured us, He says that we should be of good cheer, He has overcome the world.
John 16:33
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
Yes the nature of our anchor, the foundation is strong, but what of the materials we build with, they tell the kind of structure we have and how we will be affected by the rains.
1Corinthians 3:12
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
We as humans love to blame God for this and that, thinking that we do not need to work, but we have to, we must build and our building would be tested.
1Corinthians 3:13
each one's work will become manifest; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.
Therefore we must build and build with the right materials. We cannot keep accumulating materials that can not stand the fire test and expect that our building would not burn when tested by fire.
We need to look at our lifes and see what it is we have held on to tightly. Jesus talked of a man who just went on storing wealth and when it was time to enjoy them, God asked for his soul.
If God should open our file today, what will be in our record?
If trials and temptations come what kind of building will they meet?
One awesome thing about it all is that once you have the right foundation, Jesus, you are rest assured that you can begin to build again with the right materials. We can rewrite our records with God, Paul was once known as a terror to the saints, but his story changed to that of a saint and a caller to the lost to become saints.
Lets like David, ask that God by His Spirit should evaluate us, that we may know where we stand.
What have we built on and what have we built with?
Let this also be our prayer:
Colossians 4:12
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
God bless you.
Love
