REPERCUSSION

Genesis 34:2,6,13

But when the local prince, Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, saw Dinah, he seized her and raped her.

Hamor, Shechem’s father, came to discuss the matter with Jacob.

But since Shechem had defiled their sister, Dinah, Jacob’s sons responded deceitfully to Shechem and his father, Hamor.

Cause and effects, every action carries it's repercussion. Most times we don't think of it, we only think of the immediate pleasure, satisfaction of ego and so many other things which are based on selfishness and self pleasure.

I always say, "you can do whatever you like, but you cannot control the consequence(s)". They are not fully under your control.

IT IS EASY TO TAKE THE ACTION, HOWEVER, ARE YOU READY FOR THE REACTION?

Shechem had his pleasure, however no matter how much he was willing to pay, the harm had already been done.

Proverbs 6:32-35

But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself.

He will be wounded and disgraced.

His shame will never be erased.

For the woman’s jealous husband will be furious, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

He will accept no compensation, nor be satisfied with a payoff of any size.

Not everything can be settled with money. No, when it touches the heart or soul you need divine intervention for forgiveness to take place.

Many are moving around with wounds that they have gotten from the evils they have done. They had thought they were free because it seemed that they escaped. Hmm

Matthew 18:10

“Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.

That person that allows you to go free from hurting them, has actually left the battle to the Lord. It may even be better for you that they expressed their anger so you can seek their forgiveness and make amends.

Jacob's sons went to far!

Remember:

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

We are to learn from these and do better.

Let it be a privilege that we have God's Spirit in us. We must do better!

We should stop creating complex situations by making bad decisions. We need to stop thinking of ourselves alone, we must think of others. We must be interested in what pleases the Lord.

Titus 3:8

This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.

May we never cause pain to others, and may no one be able to cause us pain. So help us Good Lord.

Love
