PERSECUTION OF THE BLESSED

Genesis 39:20-21b

So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king’s prisoners were held, and there he remained.

But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love.

When you are a shining star, you attract attention. However it comes from both the good and the bad.

Joseph was a star, it evoked on him the wrath of his brothers.

He was sold into slavery. However we know:

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

God makes everything work for your good as far as you are in His purpose. This is the heritage of the blessed of the Lord.

He went in as a servant and became the ruler of the house!

This was not his destination. So persecution arose!

Listen, never lose focus on your way to your destination. Until you get there, watch out for persecution!

That persecution you are facing, that temptation you are overcoming is to prompt you into your glory. Remember all that will walk the walk of the Lord must pass their tests. They must overcome their temptations. Even Christ faced His and overcame.

So his boss's wife was the temptation, which when resisted became persecution. Endure it.

*Hear well, "resisted temptation can become persecution". Selah*

The persecution of the blessed is different. It has a purpose, it breeds great exploits/prosperity.

Listen,

1 Peter 4:15-16

If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.

But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

If you suffer for doing wrong, you deserve it. There is no reward there. There is no persecution there.

However, if you suffer for doing right, it is persecution, trust that the Lord will work out good for you from it.

Many have terminated their journey to greatness because of a temporary temptation, losing the glory that is still ahead.

If Joseph had fallen for Portiphar's wife advances, he would have terminated his destiny. Also he would yet be found out and will pay dearly for it.

Never make the wrong exchange, flee all appearances of evil!

The worst that can happen is delay, but it will surely come to pass.

Habakkuk 2:3

This vision is for a future time.

It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.

If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place.

It will not be delayed.

Remember that when the blessing is from the Lord, no one can do anything about it. No one can terminate it and He will not add sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22

The blessing of the lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

Listen, don't fight or hold grievances against the blessed of the Lord, you are the one who will lose out. Many have made enemies and cut of good relationship because of influence of others painting a bad PR of good people. You cannot bring down or depress the blessed. The Lord takes care of His own. Selah

Portiphar's business prospered because of Joseph, I wonder how his business will fare after he had thrown Joseph into prison - it is a cankerworm to marry a foolish spouse!

If you are blessed of the Lord, get up from that complacency, hold on to your faith, wait on Him again. His glory will shine upon you once again. No one can stop it.

Truly,

He calls us blessed.

Love
