Acts 14:22-23

where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.

Paul and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting, they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.


No one loves pain, a lady once told me "I cannot take any stress in my life". It got me worried though. Hmm


The truth is that good, valuable and lasting success doesn't come easy. This is not a motivational statement. For that is what the Bible teaches:


1Peter 5:10 

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].


This truth is what many of the new generations shy away from. Let me give you an illustration. A young graduate just finished his/her mandatory service to their country and is now looking forward to face the world. Coming into church on a Sunday, the minister proclaims, "...by this time next year you will be in your own house...". Worst off they can go to the extreme to ask them to sow a seed that they become millionaires the next year.


All these are mere gimmicks it doesn't happen that way. See the Lord can lift anyone up overnight. Yes he can transform a pauper into royalty in a moment.


Daniel 2:21 

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:


However is that what is important?


Mark 8:36-37

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?


Has that mind been trained to handle it, has the soul been prepared. See when you put an inexperienced child to lead, expect a great downfall. For one evil that can happen to someone is to carry a burden that your weight cannot handle, you break.


So Paul tells the believers the truth:


Acts 14:22 

Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.


We talk of rest, rest and rest. Let me end this writing by asking this question:


Does one who has Not worked deserve rest?


Secondly, do we rest on our oars when our assignment is yet to be completed?


May the Heavenly Father have mercy, may His truth cancel out every lie of the enemy and that of evil men disguised as believers.


The sweetness of the gospel will be in the truth, not in a flatter.


Lord have mercy.


He calls us blessed.

OUR GIVING

NEVER TAKE REVENGE!

Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge;I will pay them back,” says the lord. Offences would surely come as we continue our journey here on earth. One thing we must learn to do is never to act when we are angry. Almost one hundred percent of the time, if we reflect on it, we find that we regret our actions. It is not that we do not get angry, the bible teaches that even when we do, it should not lead us to sin. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: If an enemy hurts us, well what do we expect from an enemy. However betrayal is when a friend intentionally hurts us.
