STILL YOUR CHOICE

Acts 13:45,50-52

But when some of the Jews saw the crowds, they were jealous; so they slandered Paul and argued against whatever he said.

Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town.

So they shook the dust from their feet as a sign of rejection and went to the town of Iconium.

And the believers were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.


As glorious and splendorous the grace and salvation of God is to everyone, yet the decision still lies on the individual. For what Christ says is COME, however if one refuses, the Lord has NOT been recorded to force anyone.


Christ says that all that come to Him have been drawn by the Father:


John 6:64-65

But some of you do not believe me.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning which ones didn’t believe, and he knew who would betray him.)

Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.”


People confuse this with predestination, they feel the Lord has already called me to salvation I don't need to do anything, I can live anyhow it doesn't matter. While some feel they have been predestined to perish, so why worry doing good or receiving salvation, their destiny has been sealed.


Well if this was so, then there would be no calling.

Matthew 22:14

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”


King Saul was called to be king and at that time it was wonderful, there was even a record of him prophesying. However his heart was more to please the people and make himself look good than obeying the one who called him. This led to his rejection.


It is not the calling that matters but the chosing.


So we see in our text today. The Jews were chosen to be the first recipient of the gospel, but they rejected it. The gentiles went ahead of them.


Jesus warned the so called religious rulers:


Matthew 21:31-32

“Which of the two obeyed his father?”They replied, “The first.”Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.

For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins.


Many had the opportunity to know the Lord, many were born into homes were God is King and the only way of Salvation, Jesus the Christ is Lord. How many kept or keeps the faith. It is not how it starts but how it ends.


Ecclesiastes 7:8a

Finishing is better than starting. 


At the end of it all it is still our choice. So many things are advertised out there but there is only one truth, so many ways, yet only one way, so many lives yet only one life.


John 14:6

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.


What have you chosen, what are you choosing and what will you choose. It is up to you.


Help us Good Lord.


He calls us blessed.

NEVER TAKE REVENGE!

Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge;I will pay them back,” says the lord. Offences would surely come as we continue our journey here on earth. One thing we must learn to do is never to act when we are angry. Almost one hundred percent of the time, if we reflect on it, we find that we regret our actions. It is not that we do not get angry, the bible teaches that even when we do, it should not lead us to sin. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: If an enemy hurts us, well what do we expect from an enemy. However betrayal is when a friend intentionally hurts us.
