UNDER HIS PROTECTION - Touch not
Genesis 20:3
But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him, “You are a dead man, for that woman you have taken is already married!”
King Abimelech of Gerar found himself facing death sentence all because of Abraham. Four things we learn from this recorded event (2Timothy 3:16):
1. Not everything that looks beautiful, is for you to take.
2. Be attentive that you do not miss when the Lord is speaking to you.
3. Some enjoy great covering from the Lord, they carry a grace that cannot be tampered with.
4. If we know the great protection the Lord has provided for us, we would not need to lie as a result of fear.
For though Abimelech was right when he said he was innocent, if not that the Lord had mercy on him, he and all his people would have been destroyed. For He had already made them barren.
Genesis 20:17-18
Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants, so they could have children.
For the lord had caused all the women to be infertile because of what happened with Abraham’s wife, Sarah.
As children of God we enjoy such covering for it is the Lord that fights our battle. May we continually enjoy His grace. Amen.
May those whom people say we ought to fear, out of fear of us be suppliers to us.
Genesis 20:14-16
Then Abimelech took some of his sheep and goats, cattle, and male and female servants, and he presented them to Abraham. He also returned his wife, Sarah, to him.
Then Abimelech said, “Look over my land and choose any place where you would like to live.”
And he said to Sarah, “Look, I am giving your ‘brother’ 1,000 pieces of silver in the presence of all these witnesses. This is to compensate you for any wrong I may have done to you. This will settle any claim against me, and your reputation is cleared.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work:
He calls us blessed.
