ARE YOU A TRUE FRIEND?

ARE YOU A TRUE FRIEND? I know what it means to feel alone. When you turn here and there and it feels there is no one to lean on. When you feel there is no one to discuss that issue with. When you don't want to be betrayed again. Proverbs 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? Man was not created to be alone. God still says so, not just about a wife or a husband, but having someone you can lean on and who also looks up to you. Many fear to lean on others because of the betrayal of trust and unfaithfulness from people they have leaned on. The mind of God still surpasses our fears and doubt. No matter what happens God expects us to remain faithful, to be that good neighbour and that faithful friend. Remember that though the whole world fail, you are already a winner in Jesus the Christ. Who won the victory. As believers we know that offences would come but we should never be the source. Matthew 18:7  "Woe to th

GOD'S WISDOM

GOD'S WISDOM Ecclesiastes 12:12  And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh  It has been observed that as you grow to the zenith of academics your region of expertise begins to narrow down, you have areas of specialization. One thing is fact, there is no end to learning for man, when you think you know so much on a matter someone else arrives and dwarfs or levels your knowledge. A man can make so much on an issue but someone else comes and counter his clams. Proverbs 18:17 The first one to plead his cause seems right, until his neighbor comes and examines him. One still remaineth true and infllable and that is the call of God to every heart and mind and the evidence of His presence all around us. You may argue or try to use your human instinct to explain it, yet it will ellude you. The workings of God and His salvation plan by coming to earth in human form in the person of His Son fur

A SLOW FADE

A SLOW FADE (IT SLIPS AWAY BIT BY BIT) (" it is a slow fade, when you give yourself away it is a slow fade, when white and black are turned to grey,  and thoughts evades, choices are made, a price will be paid if you give yourself away people do not crumble in a day . . . it is a slow fade . . .)... music by Casting Crowns - slow fade. No family crashes in a switch, it starts bit by bit. No habit just jumps in and stays, it establishes itself step by step. Poverty dosen't just step in, it crawls in bit by bit, your account may remain the same, but the atmosphere changes. Sicknesses don't just step in, unhealthy habits build up and vectors drop in their venoms, bit by bit it matures. Friendship don't just break! secrets upon secrets creep up,  betrayals keep pilling up till it eventually explodes We do not loose our children instantly, bit by bit a combination of bad exampling, neglect, carelessness and less love. Then before you know it, other thing

A FAMILY

A FAMILY We have family! we become a member of this family, because of Grace that came from God to a people whom He created for Himself.  However (man) who choose to test the otherside thinking it was freedom,  but alas no,  it was to sell the birthright to the one who envied man and wanted to see him fall. Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" Man was created independent with power to choose and to have dominion over all creatures and things created. Yet needed to be sustained by a power because he was a spirit being and was created to draw life from God's Spirit. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed

DO NOT FORGET

DO NOT FORGET Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Read Psalm 103 * who heals your disesases * who protects you * who provides for you * whose power cannot be contested * He sacrificed His Son for us * He called us back when we were lost * He forgave our sins In Him * our families are blessed * our work prospers * we are above principalities and powers * we are gods * He healed us There is the tendency to forget what God has done for us when we face new challenges. We could get so preoccupied with the issue and forget who has been good to us. Lamentations 3:22 Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. If we remember His goodness then we should trust that He who did it for us in time past is able to yet to do more for us. When doubt comes, when fear arises when reports come to shake our fear or when temptation comes to lead us to sin we should remember. . . Romans 8:37 Yet i

PRAY

PRAY 1Thessalonians 5:17  pray without ceasing, One thing is sure about prayer and in all forms as stated in the scripture is that it must be consistent and never ceasing. Daniel 6:10b   . . . he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Great men of old had the custom of praying consistently, from Abraham to John the Baptist, this was so even till the ressurrection of Jesus and is still continued when the Holy Spirit came down on Pentecost. Prayers are of many types and forms but the most important part is when you have discussions with God. A child cannot but communicate with the father. As we end this successful week. Don't forget to always pray. No matter how busy you are, do make time to talk with the Father. Love @ the watcher.

ABOVE THE NOISE

ABOVE THE NOISE We live in a world that is full of noise.  A lot of things coming in from every corner. If you are to live in faith you should hear the voice of the Lord above all the noise. Psalms 62:11 God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Jesus said His own will hear and thus they would follow Him, they would not follow another. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: So many things seek our attention. * Some are very important * Some are not that important * Some are a mere distraction As we go about our duties and roles,  it important to listen to the Father and He speaks to us through His Holy Spirit. No wonder the character of the Holy Spirit is patience. We must learn to patiently listen, because yes he would surely speak. The love of God could seek your attention when you get so carried away or distracted, when you pay no attention or bother to listen to what He says. Oh what pain, if

IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM

IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM Ephesians 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Genesis 1:27  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. One thing we most times forget is that many have come before us and many will come after us. Our time comes and goes, still God remains unchangeable, ominipotent, ominiprescence. We are a passing phase but He is constant. So it is not about us but about Him. Revelation 4:11  "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created." So * if He gives us all we ask for or not * if we have something we are not satisfied with in our life * if we feel we ought to be more than what we are now * if we think God has not met our expectations * if we feel we cannot submit to His full authority * if we

THERE IS HEALING FOR US

THERE IS HEALING FOR US Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. The desire of God for us is that we should be in good health. The earth consist of things which could make our natural body weak and fall to sickness. Some ailments were from birth, some developed from activities done after birth, some as a result of bad life style, some as a result of eating the wrong things and recently from the activities of man in improving technologies, wars and also industrialisation. From the beginning of time God had been in the business of healing. The fall of man as recorded in Genesis 3 made man liable to sicknesses and diseases. But God had always shown His power to heal. His mercy was reveled from His children of Isreal and all who still came from the outside received their healing, when they stirred up their faith and came to God. An example is the Naaman the

GLIMPSE OF ETERNITY(a reminder)

GLIMPSE OF ETERNITY(a reminder) While we are here on earth we may forget that the time here is limited. We are either overwelmed with the riches and enjoyments we have. The pains and worrys of life and also the bothers of people around us. The main riches surpasses our time here it is even from these riches that we enjoy on earth. Romans 9:23  and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness . . . Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. So whether in this world or in the one after riches still belong to God. Think of it the joy you experience when you are in need and money gets into your hands. It is not really the money but what the money can buy that generates the joy. It can also be the security you feel due to the presence of the money. Bills can now be paid, food can be bought, you can dr

WHEN IT WEARS OFF

WHEN IT WEARS OFF Most times things we buy or are attracted to, come in wrappers with shades of various colours, logos and designs The real thing is eventually seen when the wrapper/covering is removed. When it wears off, we see the real person! * away from the church service/programme * when people who know us as  christians are not present * when night has come * when we are annoyed * when we are tempted with money, sex, power, position * when we have a challenge * when expectations are delayed Then we will know if we will stand or fall. Proverbs 24:10 (KJV) [If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small. Here you need the grace to stand, and stand strong. Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. When we are alone or outside our circle of convenience or comfort zone, we could be tempted to fret or err. The truth is, since we are born of

DON'T STAY THERE!

DON'T STAY THERE! Habakkuk 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry. We may * have fallen * think we have failed * have tried many times and feel it may never work out * feel we have waited too long * have everything working well for us People may be making fun of us, maybe behind our back. People may be praising us. The enemy may keep dropping doubts in our mind. Don't stay there get up! try again. It will surely work out. It is time to move ahead. Recall, take account of, then Throw away the: * mistakes * wrong decisions * hurts * disappointments * shame * sorrow * sins * self righteousness * fears * unbelieve * pride and then recall all you have succeeded in . . . It is time to start a new chapter, it is time to make all things new. Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the

WHY HURT ME

WHY HURT ME When God told the children of Isreal not to murder in Exodus 20 Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder. They took the instruction as literal until Jesus explained it to us. Matthew 5:21-24 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder,' and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.  "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.  "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,  "leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Every activity we do most times involves someone else. In our interaction with other people we cannot afford to be un

PRIDE:  THAT EVIL STING

PRIDE:  THAT EVIL STING It is always said that what brought Satan down and made him loose all his glory was that sting called pride. Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud, but He will establish the boundary of the widow. James 4:6  But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Pride could mean you forgetting who is in charge, God, then placing yourself in His place. The Lord may not act immediately but when He does the result is not pleasant. Isaiah 42:8  I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images. When we place ourself in God's place we find it easy to find faults in others, we always feel offended and rarely see ourselves offending others. Pride will make one always see  oneself above others, always the one needed to be apologized to, wanting to be reverenced, always want to intimidate and like to be given, never think

WORSHIP

WORSHIP The best way to begin a new day is to worship the one who allowed us see the day. 1Chronicles 23:30  to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening; Same way to end the day. Giving God the Glory. Psalms 30:12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. The act of worship involves reverence. Our every day lives should be to give reverence to God, in school, workplace, at home, in the bus, in your car, in the airplane, everywhere. Worship is an act which is as a result of the state of ones mind. Worship is for the one we submit to. Do we always worship God. Worship is attributed to a diety and is even synonymous to idolatory. Another synonym is idolatory. (according to the English dictionary). We therefore should note that when we do not worship God something else is worshipped. Exodus 20:3  "You shall have no other gods before me" Exodus 2

WAIT ON THE LORD

WAIT ON THE LORD There are times we have to wait. When we have prayed, maybe fasted, cried, wailed but it seems to us that God is not interested in our situation.  We may be tempted to feel that it dosen't bother God. We may even find your counterparts getting it easy. Still we must learn to wait. James 1:3  Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Will it be easy? No. Yet we must wait. Waiting on the Lord works out your patience and proves your obedience. Micah 7:7 "Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me." Lamentations 3:26 "It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD" Revelations 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Quoting Pastor Taiwo Lemoshe "when you have not gotten a new instruction, keep obeying the previous one" I then add  "while

WHO DO YOU LOVE?

WHO DO YOU LOVE? It is indeed important to ask this question. There are many stories and definition of Love.  Yet the greatest of all is the one of Him who is above all things and from whom all things have their origin. He is the one who made us "human" come to existence. He is Yaweh the Jehovah, God the Almighty. 1John 4:8  He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God is love but His love is not an abstract one, His love made Him sacrifice His Son for us, that His blood will cleanse us from all sin, and then grant us the right to be children of God. Then heirs in Christ Jesus. 1John 4:9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. God loves us, in return what does He expect from us. Simple -  to love Him also. He even commanded it. Deuteronomy 6:5  "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all you

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM John 1:18  No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 5:37  "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. John 8:57  Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" John 14:7  "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." All the desire of man is actually to return to full communion with the Father, that hunger has driven so many people to chase after things money, fame, religion, lusts, sorcery, power, fame and so on, just to satisfy that desire. God has revealed Himself to us in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. He also abides in anyone who believes in the person of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. Acts 17:24  "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is L

STILL ON APPRECIATION

STILL ON APPRECIATION 1John 4 : 7 - 9 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. At what gesture do we need to show appreciation. Your ability to show appreciation is a measure of the love inside of you. Every form of appreciation encourages the doer to do more good. Somethings we do take the following for granted: A. The ones who regularly calls or checks up on us. B. The ones who always has a good advice for us. C. The ones who gives us things even as little as recharge cards or pay our transport fares or gives you a ride. D. The ones who corrects our mistake. E. The ones who shares the word of God with us. F. The ones who makes our worship comfortable as a worker in church. E. The ones who work under

GIVE THANKS TODAY:

GIVE THANKS TODAY: 1Thessalonians 5:18  "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." No better prayer than giving thanks, when you give thanks for what He has done be sure that He will do more. How glorious it will be if all believers where Thanksgivers our lives will definitely be faultless. Prayer should not be asking, asking and asking like the relationship with a boss. With God all things is already done. We just align to what is done. Even in asking when you feel so anxious the bible says do it with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Before anything else give thanks to God for giving you life and for giving His Son "Yeshua, Jesus the Christ" in whom He has allowed all things to dwell.  Colossians 2:9  "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;" If you have

GRATEFUL

GRATEFUL(a reminder) To be acceptable, to have a sweet fragance towards God and man is to have a heart of gratitude. There is nothing disgusting and repulsive like an ungrateful heart. Daniel 6:10  Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. I see Daniel as a role model, this was a promising young boy who had been captured from his home town and country and enslaved. Most likely he was castrated. Since he was to work as an eunuch. Yet his custom three times a day was to give God thanks. Pride, Self consciousness, greed, ignorance and foolish are the reasons for ungratefulness. We show the same to our fellow humans, there is actually nothing too small to give thanks for, ask yourself. What does the giver really owe me? The bible said 10 lepers were healed by Jesus b

YOUR BIRTH DAY

YOUR BIRTH DAY Phillipians 2:13  for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. The day you begin a thing is the day, you were born into it. Until you have come to an acknowledgement of a truth, you can not fully live in it. You could be * around the truth * within the truth or * arguing the truth You never get the benefit of it until you accept and receive the truth. John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It is never too late to start on that which God wants you to do or achieve. Once you have identified it go ahead and begin. It is your birth day for that particular assignment and surely you will complete it. The day you decided to accept Jesus as Lord and saviour is your spiritual birthday so also the day you begin to fulfil that assignment God has given you. For every purpose there is a begining. That is the procreation that God gave beyond bearing physical children Philippians

CORRECT YOUR MISTAKES: MAKE AMENDS.

CORRECT YOUR MISTAKES: MAKE AMENDS. Man is fallible, that is we are liable to make mistakes. It lies on us to take stock each day to correct our mistakes and move forward. Psalm 19:12-13 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Pride, selfishness and lack of love could keep us in the bondage of unforgiveness and hatred but when the Love of God takes over our heart we forgive easily and learn not to think only of ourself but of others. * What change do you need to make today? * What mistakes do you need to correct? * Who do you need to reach out to? * Do apologise, throw away the pride! * How much of God will you radiate today? and * Who will you show appreciation to today, for what has been done to you in the past? If you want to know the weight of your love, check . . . * your

BY FAITH?

BY FAITH? * If you pray and it seems as if you did not get what you asked for? * When you feel all is not well? * When you are surrounded by a lot of unbelievers, then they begin to reason God out 😀 *When you seem not to understand a part of the scripture * When it seems to you that some who are not born again keep prospering * When you face a certain uncertainty * When people who say they are of God, keep on misbehaving * When false prophets use the name of Jesus to do things, perform miracles, extort weak minded ones * When many dominate others all in the name of God * When you don't see help in sight, it seems all the testimonies belong to someone else * Even when it seems all is well and things are going fine In all remember Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who a

GO TO CHURCH

GO TO CHURCH Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. If you have been born again, that is accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You have become part of His body and definitely you have a role. 1Corinthians 12:27  Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. As a family member you cannot afford to stay away from other family members. The bible says there is need  to edify  one   another. Ephesians  4:16  from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. When you stay away from the brethren other things begin to draw your attention and most times they are distractions to who you are in Christ Jesus. The issues always arises if you have not found where your b

FREE

FREE John 8:36  "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Jesus was, is and will be the only one who can make this claim. Man was born into the bondage of sin, which originally seperates the man (the spirit of man) from his maker. The mentality of slavery keeps one in bondage and makes him/her think that there is something needed to be done to find favour in the eyes of the master. So one in bondage tries to follow laws, follow practices and keeps seeking forgiveness because there is a doubt of being worthy. A bondage of religion. But if you are in Christ Jesus you are free from all forms of condemnation and you have direct access to the Father. Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Hebrews 4:14-16  Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confe

GOD's WILL

GOD's WILL 1John 5:14  Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. Nothing like a child knowing what the parents desire, what plans they have and what to do to please them. The same way God has embeded in His word His will and purpose for our lives. He also by His Spirit in us reveals His will to us. If we know His will we then do not ask amiss but accordinging to His will and we are sure that all things will definitely work for our good. Jesus said Mark 3:35 "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother." John 9:31  "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. The Holy Spirit interceeds for us according to God's will. Romans 8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. So in all

HE KNOWS BEST

HE KNOWS BEST We all have our desires, plans, goals and expectations. We bring them to God in prayer. We expect it to work exactly as we picture it. Sometimes things don't happen the same way we expect it to, we then forget all and focus on the exact thing we desired. But let us understand that when God looks at it, He looks far beyond our limited view, He has in mind the future and the details we are not previleged to have. Ephesians 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, We can be sure that God has our best interest at heart. He sees all possible outcomes and then gives us the best. Isaiah 55:9  "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Psalms 92:5  O LORD, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep. My prayer is that He will grant us the grace to see His good plans for us.

WHAT YOU CONTROL 2

WHAT YOU CONTROL 2 Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: We have taken control of our self. Next we need to take control of our relationship with others. We could be * leading others: parent, employer, pastor, teacher or in rulership position( political or otherwise) * be led by others: employee, laity, children, student, citizen, or just reporting to someone * a spouse *  neighbour * a relation * a public servant: a journalist, welfare worker, medical personnel, in the judiciary or in the armed forces or law enforcement Whether we be reserved, outgoing or in between, we fall into one category or the other. We affect the lives of others. That is why the bible says . . . Hebrews 12:14 & 15 Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking diligently lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up caus

WHAT YOU CONTROL 1

WHAT YOU CONTROL 1 Request never ending, Asking and Asking, Seeking and Seeking, Fasting and waiting, Reading and studying, Being taught day after day, from one programme to the other, one skill acquisition to another, one miracle service to the other. All these are key elements of people who are heading somewhere, who have a vision of something greater in the future. Mediocrity and laziness is not acceptable in the kingdom of God. Trying to get help on things we do not have control on. But . . . What have we done with the one we can control. God asked Moses "what do you have in your hand?" The prophet asked the widow "What do you have left?" Now the question is what are we doing with what God has allowed us to control, the number one thing is self. Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: How have you taken charge to ensure that you have taken care of your min

BEWARE!

BEWARE! It is possible to lead others in and yet not partake in the journey or get to the destination. I rememeber in children Sunday school days, when we were given the illustration of the bus conductors who usher people into buses heading to a destination but yet not heading there themselves. Paul implied that after doing the work one can still be a cast away. 1Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. How can this happen? Read 1Corinthians 10:1-15 1 Corinthians 10:12,14 [12]Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands [who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin]. [14]Therefore, my dearly beloved, shun (keep clear away from, avoid by flight if need be) any sort of idolatry (of loving or venerating anything more than God). We cannot afford to lead many in the right path then miss it. No! Where
