BEWARE!

BEWARE!

It is possible to lead others in and yet not partake in the journey or get to the destination.

I rememeber in children Sunday school days, when we were given the illustration of the bus conductors who usher people into buses heading to a destination but yet not heading there themselves.

Paul implied that after doing the work one can still be a cast away.

1Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

How can this happen?

Read 1Corinthians 10:1-15

1 Corinthians 10:12,14
[12]Therefore let anyone who thinks he stands [who feels sure that he has a steadfast mind and is standing firm], take heed lest he fall [into sin].
[14]Therefore, my dearly beloved, shun (keep clear away from, avoid by flight if need be) any sort of idolatry (of loving or venerating anything more than God).

We cannot afford to lead many in the right path then miss it. No!

Where do we fall?

* Are we leading?
* Are we the led?

We should fall into these two categories alternatively.
As believers we are led to mature to lead others, going from one stage to the other.

As the led, we obey knowing that the true standard is Christ.

1Corinthians 11:1
Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ

We also have the duty to pray, interceeding for those who lead us spiritually. That they may not fall.

Galatians 6:6
Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches

Isaiah 30:20b
yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers

Then in leading we must show good example we must hear right, study right, that we may teach right. We cannot afford to lead the one's under us astray.

2Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Romans 12:8
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

You should know when you are being led and also when you are leading, the balance of these two will help you never to fall.

James 3:1
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

"Although sometimes we could do both and not be fully conscious of it."

Do not remain the led when you ought to lead and do not lead when you ought to follow.

Hebrews 5:12
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat

2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears

Every christian has a role of a teacher, we have a duty to lead.

It could begin from our children.

Deutronomy 6:7
"you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Psalms 34:11
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

We learn, we are fed, we also need to feed others.

We are relevant.

Yet in all we are cautious that we may not err.

The world is a battle, every believer must be serious. The enemy strives to make us complacent but he won't succeed our peace and rest is in the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

BUT . . .

Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 2:15
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Therefore we run and yet rejoice.

May the Lord grant us grace to understand and to obey.

We will not fail,
We will not falter,
We will not fall.

The Lord will be pleased with us.

God bless you.

Love
@ the watcher.
