LIVE LIKE WHOSE YOU ARE

1John 3 : 2 & 3

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.


Now we know that our change will take place when Christ returns, for now we carry our flesh with us.

This should make us more cautious. For the flesh becomes a burden when we allow it have it's way.


Paul said:


Romans 7:23-24
But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?


This is why when sin or works of the flesh is talked about it is an instruction:


Romans 13:12
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.


Ephesians 4:22
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;


Colossians 3:8
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.


We are to put off the fleshy nature and to put on our nature of righteousness.


Are we to do this on our own? No


Paul continues:


Romans 7:25
Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.


Then he now concludes it in chapter 8:


Romans 8:1-2
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.


So out job here is the willingness which leads to submission to God.


Definitely when Christ returns we will receive a new body, but while we wait we must wear the nature of who we have become. Sons of God.


John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:


May the Lord give us our daily strength to live like who we have become "His Sons"


Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

PRAYER
Loving Father, I have released myself wholly and fully to You. Hellp me Lord to live like Your son for that is who You call me. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

TRADE WISELY

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Many have traded their joy chasing over material things and the pleasures and satisfaction of the world. The question is "is it worth it?". DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us?
