THE BLESSING OF A GOOD LEADER

2 Chronicles 1:15

The king made silver and gold as plentiful in Jerusalem as stone. And valuable cedar timber was as common as the sycamore-fig trees that grow in the foothills of Judah.


You are blessed when you have a good leader for good leaders would not think of themselves alone but more importantly for those they lead.


That is why scripture says:


Proverbs 29:2

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. 

But when the wicked are in power, they groan.


Solomon started out as a good leader. Look at His request when the Lord gave him an open cheque, his request was for wisdom to rule his people right. This is a characteristic of a true leader who has the fear of God and the love of the people.


I have always said that if you do not have love for the people you have no business leading them. Selah


Now, ask yourself, are you a good leader?


Are you a blessing to those you lead?


* As a Father or mother?

* As an elder in the family or community?

* As a church leader or pastor?

* As an elected representative in whatever capacity or hierarchy?

* As a representative of the government?

* As an employee or manager?


Are you a good leader, are you a blessing to those you lead?


Someone said, it takes a good follower to be a good leader. Check!


Have you played a part in chosing your leaders? Were you clear on it or you worked with sentiment, bias or even allowed yourself to be bought or corrupted?


We tend to forget the part we play when trouble arises.


Can we make amends?


The Lord can help us.


May we be good leaders and may we be led by good leaders.


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER 

Loving Father You require me to be a good leader, help me to be so even as You lead me. Lord may I be led also by good leaders. Your name Lord is glorified forever.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out. Please don't give up, God is still in control Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
