WE PROSPER

John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. We cannot have anything except the Heavenly Father permits that we do. Yes we plan, set goals, work etc. Yet if the Lord does not permit we will not yield. Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. Proverbs 16:1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. I love that hymn by Matthias Claudius: "We plough the seed and scatter" the first verse and chorus goes thus: (We plough the fields, and scatter the good seed on the land; But it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand: He sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain, The breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain. Chorus All good gifts around us Are sent from heaven above, Then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord For all His love.) Men like Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Ahithophel, Balaam, etc., t...

LOVE - DON'T HATE

1John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. The nature of the believer ought to be the nature of God and the bible says: 1John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. It is not that people would not offend us, they would be offences here and there, however the environment should not destroy our internal. Selah From our initial text, hate blinds, and we know that blindness is associated with darkness. Thus destruction is not far away. That is why the Messiah, Jesus the Christ says: leave that gift on the alter and go reconcile with your brother first: Matthew 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Everyday we face the issues that proceed from our life here on earth: * family including parents, children and direct and indirect relatives; * work having bosses, subord...

TRUST IN THE LORD

Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, [is] from the LORD. Proverbs 16:1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. God created us as a mortal replica of Himself, we have the ability to make plans. However the final say is of the Lord. For no matter how much wisdom we think we have, we do not see everything. Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man [are] clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. That's where man could get it twisted, God goes deeper than the surface, He sees the heart. Furthermore He knows the end from the beginning. So what is the best way? Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Yes, we could say, what of those who have NOT kn...

ELDERS

1 Peter 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: It seems easy when one desires the role of a leader. The urge may most likely come in good intention to lead others in the right direction.  However an adage says: "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" Jesus, the Messiah says it this way: Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. It is easy to sit on the exalted chair, receive greetings and respect, even be eloquent in speech. The deciding factor still remains: 1 Peter 5:3 Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. Hello Elder: ARE YOU A GOOD EXAMPLE? Where do some miss it? 1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight [thereof], not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; What is lucre? noun (uncountable)Gain in money or goods; p...

IT IS TIME TO MOVE

2 Chronicles 15:7 But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.” The believer keeps moving forward, yes there are times of rest, reflection and retreat, but no room for complacency or laziness. Yes, you almost fell, or you actually did fall. Please don't stay there. There is a difference between falling into water and drowning. As the man of wisdom prophesied: Proverbs 24:16a For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again This you can achieve when your maker and author is the Heavenly Father himself. When He is the one you are bothered about, your victory is already sure. Contrast King Saul and King David, they had their fault(s): Saul: 1Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. And: 1Samuel 15:30 Then he said, I have sinned: [yet] honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, an...

STAY ON GUARD

1Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There is a difference between faith and arrogance. Arrogance will overlook and ignore instructions but faith will hold on to instructions. At no point should a believer feel that they are above temptations, No. Even after the devil tempted the Messiah the bible recorded that: Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. The "leaving for a season" is a trick I call "delay tactics". When it seems that temptation will not come anymore, like a pain it reappears. This is why we need to deal with every issue completely, leaving no stone unturned. Always be prepared. No matter what we may have been told or taught we still carry flesh. We ought to kill the flesh and allow the spirit to take control. We do these that we may submit to the Heavenly Father's Spirit at work in us. Most times it is more easily said than done. Romans chapter t...

THE NIGHT TIME

Psalms 16:7 I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. The night in scriptures depicts different times in the life of man: * Literary : when darkness comes Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. * Time of great trouble: Psalms 30:5 For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favour [is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning. John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Micah 3:6 Therefore night [shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. * Old age John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Lamentations 3:6 He hath set me in dark places, as [they that be] dead o...

DISSATISFIED

1Chronicles 4:9&10  Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. There is a feeling that comes when we feel that we are more than this. Our vision eye opens, we see that where we are now is not where we ought to be. It is like an awakening, as if from a deep sleep. We ask ourselves: "Why am I still held up here?".  We take stock and find ourselves wanting. Just like every prompting that comes to a believer we cannot allow ourselves to be easily carried away. Therefore we must ask: * Am I being ungrateful? * Am I comparing myself to others? * Am I genuinely behind, have I taried too long at that spot? * Do I have a vision of where I a...

KNOW YOUR GOD!

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: We talk of knowing God, hope we know what we are talking about? Selah! Do we know what it means to know God? Let us look at this extract from the narration of Daniel about the revelation of the end time shown to Him : Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits]. These are two contrasts: Those who corrupt the covenant and those who know their God. It has been like that from the early times. There are those who rebel against God's authority in their lives: starting from Cain to examples of others who rebelled against the covenant up till today. The bible says they shall be corrupted by flatteries. * form of godliness, but no power * have itching ears * heap on themselves false teachers * call upon the name of the Lo...

CONSIDER THE BRETHREN IN DISTRESS

Psalms 120:7, 6 and 121:1 I [am for] peace: but when I speak, they [are] for war. My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. While some of us gather in air-conditioned spaces and complain of little discomforts in our places of worship, some in certain places gather in fear not knowing when the next physical attack will occur. Some do not have as much as a roof to cover their place of gathering. We need to bring these troubled ones in prayer time and again. Going further to support them in whatever way we can. That we have peace and liberty of worship is no license to get carried away with showmanship, puffed up sermons, unspiritual aesthetics and chase after material things. Do you dwell in prayer consistently, are you deep in study and meditation of the word, are you full of the Spirit. Do you do the good work. Are you a good example? What is your sacrifice? What is your testimony? Remember we run the same r...

DWELL IN THE WORD

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. The sword of the believer is the word of God. It is also spiritual food and the lamp that illuminates our path. We cannot stay without the word. One way to get into trouble and totally miss one's way in our journey with God through this earth is when we derail from the word. We are to study day and night, understanding by meditation what the Lord is saying, knowing His will, being empowered, then teaching others. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. David describes the word as lig...

IS IT TIME?

Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. One reason for good timing is preparation. What an error to give a position to a man that lacks experience or wisdom. Yes we live in fast paced times, where everything seems to move so fast. Yet we must work by times and seasons. There is a planting time, the weaning time and also the harvesting time. Every one of God's own we see as examples in the old testament went through their seasons of preparation before they ventured into the next level. Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Almost all who did not go through the training, did not finish well. Selah Moses was not left in the king's house, he had to flee and be...

YOUR REAL BIRTHDAY

Phillipians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; A week ago I would say was my birthday. Remembering the day I was born into this world. Is that the most important day in my life? When exactly is our birthday? The day you begin a thing is the day you were born into it. Until you have come to an acknowledgement of a truth, you cannot fully live in it. The moment of actualisation is when that dream, vision or purpose is born! You could be * around the truth * within the truth or * arguing the truth You never get the benefit of it until you accept and receive the truth. That moment the truth is settled with you is your beginning that is your real birth date for that purpose. John 8:32 "And you shall know the tr...

DON'T HURT ANOTHER?

Proverbs 3:29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. One of the things God would not approve of is, betrayal. This is not necessarily from a lower to a greater, it could also be from a higher to a lower. How can we ask for God's mercy only to go ahead to do evil against our neighbour. What are you plotting? Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Yes offences will arise but hello believer, Yeshau, Jesus the Christ says it shouldn't come from you. Why Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea. DON'T GET INTO GOD'S BLACK BOOK Don't be deceived, Remember: Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. We will not be caug...

IT IS WELL WITH ME

Lamentations 3:22-23 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. Yahweh never sleeps nor slumbers. We are the ones who do. Nothing overwhelms Him. He is God! We should never compare our weakness to His, He is the one who: * gives strength yet never gets tired * watches over us and yet needs no one to watch over Him * Provides our need because He Himself is provision * Forgives our sins, yet cannot behold iniquity * Deserves all the glory and still allows us to shine in this colony * Who made His Son the judge of all, and still the Son is our advocate (Read Psalm 103) The list is endless, the awesome love of our God to us. The greatest love God showed us, was to call us His Sons: 1John 3:1a Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: It did not come cheap, it came with a high prize, the sacrifice of His only begotten So...

ABOUT SIN!

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: This was not really an issue with the keepers of law in Israel, the books of the law had comprehensive offences and repercussions for errs. They only needed to refer the matter to the elders and teachers of the law then a verdict was taken. However: Then the truth about God's law was revealed! Psalm 4:4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:8 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 1Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and [of] a good conscience, and [of] faith unfeigned: 1 Peter 3:...

LET US USE GOD'S HELP

Psalm 121:2. My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Are we really using God's help? All who served God through the time of the law and the prophets exercised a faith that went beyond sight. Remember that most of them had no physical encounter with God. They had to exercise faith through the law and the prophets. We today have something greater, the indwelling of the Spirit. Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; The question is, how have we used this help from the Lord? Eve enjoyed a glory so great, yet the enemy could convince her that there was something better. Selah We need to understand what privilege we have and make the most of it. We are inexcusable! As we come closer to the end of another year, take stock, make amends...

WHY WE WORK

John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Yes, we do not get saved and then get whisked out of this world. No, cause we would then have no reward. What will be our testimony, what can we lay claim to? That is why when the Lord returns He should find us WORKING. Luke 12:43-44 If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. There are so many distractions in this world both from within and without. It takes God's grace and our dedication to stay in line. Thus Christ said: keep them from evil. We need to dwell in the word and stay in prayer, it is the fuel and o...

BE DIFFERENT!

Exodus 23:2a Thou shalt not follow a multitude to [do] evil; We are not expected to be loners or to detach ourselves from people. We actually need people both of the faith and out of the faith. The same way they need us to! 1 Corinthians 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. However, the bible says we should not join people to do evil. 1 Peter 4:3-4 For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:  Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]: Yes they may give us names, mocking us because we do not join in the evil they do, brethren do not be moved, always remember: 1 Peter 4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the de...

ARE YOU STILL A BABY?

Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk [is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. One thing most people would not like to be called is "a baby". We desire to be called "mature". Some quote the number of years they have been in the christian journey. Others could talk of who they have associated with, pastors and leaders they have met. In all, we are not matured until we can take strong meat, teach and have disciples. Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. It is right to say that "talk is cheap" it is the results you produce that tells if you are what you claim. The only way we can bear fruit is when we abide in Christ. There is no way you abide in Christ and not grow. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do ...

DON'T HURT OTHERS

Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. It is unacceptable for one to go about hurting another, more unacceptable coming from a believer . No, that is not the testimony Jesus had. We are to follow His example. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. His testimony was that He went about doing good. This should be our testimony too. One major way of bringing pain to others is by our tongue. James 3:8-10 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proc...

NO CONDEMNATION

John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. John 3:16,18-19 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. One stumbling block to the growth of a believer is the feeling of condemnation. It is a tool of the flesh and the enemy to keep one away from fulfilling God's purpose for their life. So great is this feeling of insecurity and uncertainty, that the power we have in Christ Jesus is short changed with fear an...

DON'T GIVE UP - PRESS ON

Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. One great revelation we have in the book of the prophets is what is revealed in Habakkuk's prophesy in Chapter 2: 1.  He was at His watch Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; 2. He knew he needed direction(the vision)  that he could answer anyone about the reason why he does what he does: Habakkuk 2:1 and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 3. The Lord laid His visions in His heart 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 4. He was to write them down. The visions were not limited...

TAKE TIME OUT

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. We have all the reasons to give God thanks. We could get carried away and go on daily, complaining, asking, interceding, fighting and doing other things we think are necessary. We however, ought not to forget to take time out just to reflect on God's goodness and thus GIVE THANKS. Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; You will indeed marvel, when you take time out to reflect on all the Lord has been to you. You hear of crises here and there, you see people who desire to enjoy a bit of what you enjoy. 1Thessalonians 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Do you know what privilege you enjoy because you know God and you are known of Him? The assurance that goes beyond this life to the one after. Glory! Psalm 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks...

WE ARE NOT ALONE!

Deuteronomy 4:31 (For the LORD thy God [is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. Hebrews 13:5-6 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. There is this misconception that some believers sometimes have, especially when they face certain challenges, temptation or trials. That thought or feeling that they are on their own. That it is when they cry out that the Lord comes to rescue them. No! Let us understand this, the Lord sends help time and again to the believer. There are battles that are fought, time and again, that we are not even aware of. However, the Lord never leaves His own unguarded. We could talk of the hedge around Job such that the enemy could not touch the righteous ...

The ECLIPSE ends!

Are you experiencing an eclipse? Ecclesiastics 3:1 To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Eclipse occurs when there is an obstruction to the full reflection of the sun. Partial or full darkness is experienced. In life we have times of eclipse it is expected, though sometimes it comes and our reaction escalates it beyond its real magnitude depending on how we face it. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been proved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. We may feel as if the Lord is not with us. We may ask, where is God at this time? Hebrews 13:5b for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Do you feel unholy, unworthy that you have not lived up to God's standard this past season? Are there goals you have set, plans you have made and all seems to have failed? Are there requests you have been making to God this past season and it seems God is si...

WORKS OF FAITH

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yesterday we talked about "the walk of faith" Read it here: https://ikthewatcher.blogspot.com/2025/11/faith-walk.html Christianity is not a phantom. Selah Every spiritual walk with God is expressed in the natural world. Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. You cannot talk of living a faith life without a corresponding lifestyle that testifies. Your work displays your faith. (Hebrews 11) Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That is, the fruits manifest the content of the tree, thus a life of faith will manifest works of faith, that are evident and give glory to God. Halleluyah. Matthew 7:20-21 Wherefore by thei...

FAITH WALK

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We ought to remember that all we have been able to achieve and whatever level we have gotten to we may not have attained if we allowed ourselves to be persuaded or limited by what we see or feel. Accomplishments are not conquered by mere sight or feeling. This is a general principle of conquering. Even before Christ was revealed in the flesh, men who walked by faith conquered. Daniel could literally only see his bondage status and meats and foods sacrificed to idols. However by faith He saw the all powerful God of Israel who He needed to revere. Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah could literally only see and maybe feel the hot flames of the fire, however by faith they saw a glorious God who could never...

Whose servant are you?

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? No matter how mature a believer becomes there will always come the time to make a decision, both in small things and big things. That is a time to choose to do right or to do wrong. For temptations never really cease. The bible reveals that, at these times we prove whom we serve. Sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness! When Jesus was speaking to the Scribes and Pharisees after they brought the adulterous woman to tempt him, Jesus called them according to whom they obeyed. John 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Thus every believer ought to take heed, that they do not follow t...
