SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS 2

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: In every school, there has been set grades, that some will do well, some exceedingly well, some average and of course some would fail. Now the school never purposed that those they admitted should fail, never, the intention is that all would pass as they say "with flying colours" however this lies on the student. Will they abide by what is made available by the school to excel, or will they set their own or a contrary course? Let us look at the first man: Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. The environmen...

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS 1

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: There is this drive for earthly/material blessings that could blind the eye of the believer to what we have in Christ Jesus. We of course know that there were times when christianity was taught as a sect of poor and maybe wretched people who await a glorious inheritance or wealth after the life here on earth. Then came the sudden "revelation" of promise of wealth to believer which had its root in the promise of God to the children of Israel if they obeyed His commandment, that is if they remained faithful to Him. Deuteronomy 8:6-9, 17-18 “So obey the commands of the lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. For the lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapev...

THE BATTLE

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. When we understand who the enemy is, then victory is already ours. This is the literal wisdom in strategic planning to win a war. Thus the bible allows us to see who the enemy is, that we may not make the error of taking on the wrong armour and weapons but be well prepared for the enemy we face. Thus David did not need to go against Goliath with Saul's armour but with the missile of the Lord. The proclamation of the authority of God, placing the giant in his place " uncircumcised Philistine" then he declared his downfall. Thus a sling and a stone went out not just as a physical weapon but empowered to precisely hit target and destroy the enemy. Therefore we learn and understand that we prepare ourselves always ready, never found off guard as we continue on our own journey, no...

THE AFTERLIFE

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. So, many books exists, many people have trodden through this earth with one claim or the other. However one claim stands out in all. The one who was before the beginning! Everything we are is a product of what we believe and accept, whether from what our parents/guardian/teachers, or what we read from books. We yet choose what to believe. This will determine our fate. Selah The one question has always been "what is the end of man?" This question is important because it will influence the kind of life we live while we are here in this world. Many religions believe in the afterlife and have a description of what it entails, however only one man can talk of the afterlife because He is the owner of life and death: Let us listen to Him. John 11:24-27 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the ...

WE WORSHIP

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. We remember to: Psalms 100:1-5 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness.  Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. The gathering of God's people has always been His pleasure, that we come together as brethren to worship and thank Him for who He is and all He has done. No wonder David was called the man after God's heart, he knew what it was to worship, to enter into the gates with thanksgiving. Jesus also said: John 4:23-24 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers wil...

WE ARE LIGHT!

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Jesus said that none had seen the Father at any time, He Christ Jesus was the one who revealed the Father to the world: John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. John 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father? This is key for us to live the life we have in Christ Jesus. These are times when a lot of things influence the thoughts, words, relationships and lifestyle of the christian. So...

CHRIST ALONE

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. We really need to decide what way, what life and whose philosophy we would follow. If it is of the Lord, then let us study, get it right and then live it. This, Paul was charging in his second letter to Timothy: 2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (HOW WILL THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD US WHEN THERE IS NO WORD IN US FOR HIM TO WORK WITH? John 14:26) Too many things are speaking to us today that it seems the idols are having their way. Unless we drop the idols we cannot grab the full impact of who we are: 1John 5:21  Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. Who and what have we been worshipping? Is it our daily needs just like the people of the world have? Matthew 6: 24-33 Is it money, which Jesus said we would have to choo...

THE HEART OF MAN

1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. In all the dramas, yes, the acts we put out from day to day for whatever reason, we should not get carried away and think that the act moves God. John 2:24&25 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all [men], And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. While the pomp and show went on, Jesus was more concerned about the heart. Thus it was the heart God looked at when He said: Jeremiah 17:9&10 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings. So our heart is the birth place of our ideas, principle, actions and ...

PRAYER POINT

Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; When we come to God in prayer we could be carried away with our fears and the limitation of flesh and be all about the worries and cares of this life. However Jesus says they are things that the world bothers about. We ought to have rest. Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Instead we are to seek the kingdom: Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Thus what is the kingdom? It was were you were born into. You were saved for the kingdom! Selah. John 3:3&5 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] ...

WE SHOULD SPEAK WELL

Do you use curse words? Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. There is a trend all over the world were people have become accustomed to curse words and evil speakings. You could get so used to it that you do not know when you use them, they just come out. We must remember that our words are the reflection of what we have in our inside: Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Our conscience must never be smeared with hot iron. We must know when we should speak and when we ought to be silent.  Not every slang is meant for the believer's use. NO! Proverbs 4:24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. We must not allow this cankerworm eat into our lives and the lives ...

UNNECESSARY BURDENS

Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay [them] on men's shoulders; but they [themselves] will not move them with one of their fingers. We live in times when caution has been thrown to the wind and people even believers live careless lives and have adopted or accepted false doctrines and abominations because of personal gain, the lust of the flesh and the need to prosper. The categories vary from those running after earthly things; to those who have been taught erroneous things about heaven; to those who seek to lord it over others; and those who remain under the curse of the law. In all we should remember that Christ came to give us liberty, not a license to sin, but delivering us from the bondage of sin and setting us free from the curse of the law. So when some came to trouble believers as recorded in Acts 15: Acts 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, [and said], Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Mose...

DO WE STILL TRUST GOD?

Hebrews 2:12-13 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Can we trust God? Yes. From experience we know that man can fail but God would not,  it is wisdom to trust in the Lord. However knowing that times of tests would come, many feel it is futile to do so, when you speak of business deals,  daily routines,  and many other transactions we have to do here on earth it sounds weird to some when you bring the Lord into the picture. Certainly some have gotten it wrong, thinking that God would do for us what He has already empowered us to do. No He doesn't, yet we know that we cannot get carried away and think that it is by our strength. 1Samuel 2:9b for by strength shall no man prevail. We trust, that is why we continue in prayers, but we don't just babble, we WATCH and pray. Listening to hear what the Holy Spiri...

Be a Good Example

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Let us start with these question: * Who(s) are you an example to? * Who(s) is/are your example(s)? While we go on with our journey here on earth, we must not forget that we are from above and that we will return above, we will also give account. Paul writing to the Philippians cautioned them of a set of people: Philippians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:  Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.) We who claim to be leaders and those of us who follow must be cautious of this slipping away. * Some were initially of this nature. * Some drifted away (into it) because they became carefree, relaxed or stopped watching. * Others fell into this category because they became tired of standing or h...

ARE YOU FRUITFUL?

John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As we follow Christ we must remember that the evidence of our discipleship is fruitfulness. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. The evidence of any person is in the fruit they bear. So Jesus said: Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. When God made man he blessed Him, then commanded them to be FRUITFUL and multiply. Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. There are three types of fruiting (for the purpose of this write-up) * good fruit * bad fruit and * fruitlessness Reve...

THE SALT AND LIGHT

Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. We sing this song ". . . He came from heaven to earth, to show us the way. . . " This was the testimony of Jesus: Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. This is the description of the salt and the light. God empowering us to give taste/savour and to bring illumination/truth to our world. When Jesus said we should be this, He did not limit us to our efforts, or physical exertion, to show that we are better than others. NO, but we reveal God by doing and showing His very nature, and this we accomplish just like Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 5:16 Let y...

Power over Evil forces

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Mark 16:17&18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. There is power released to the believer over the enemies, remember we have been raised in Christ and sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: Thus the same way Eve had power over the serpent to command it to be quiet, we also have authority to command the enemies to be quiet over any area of our lives. She allowed it to talk, however we give no room for the enemy. 2 Corinthians ...

WHAT IS THE CONCLUSION?

Isaiah 66:1&2 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest? For all those [things] hath mine hand made, and all those [things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this [man] will I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. The prophesy of Isaiah was so significant to the plan of God for Israel and humanity. It was cited here and there in the New Testament signifying the revelation of the different seasons. So just as God told David, "where is the house you will build for me?". Not the physical edifice, but the heart, because God dwells in our inside through His Spirit. As Jesus explained to the Samaritan woman. John 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. It is not how beautiful the house of worship is but how beautiful the hearts that come to worship. That...

WHAT SEASON ARE YOU IN?

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world [men] have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, [what] he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. When we read the book of Isaiah, we need to understand that its prophesies and revelations are of different seasons and its directions were to varying people(s), the children of Israel(literally), the various nations and also to the whole world. Yes, when we read the old testament, we do not read like the people of old or the Pharisees and Sadducees with a veil. We read without the veil. We read by the power of the spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:15-16,18 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are ch...

LET US WORSHIP

1Chronicles 29:20 And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king. There could be many things bothering our hearts. A lot might be on our plate and it seems we are overwhelmed. We may just be excited right now and all seems to be okay around us. No matter what it is, let us take time out time to worship! First, know how to maintain your personal worship, just you and God alone. Then know how to maintain your immediate family worship, it keeps you as one and also helps you edify one another. Then we have our corporate worship. We gather together to worship God, and when we do, we allow love flow in and out of our hearts. There is a release of fresh power, we are also filled with grace to go forth to do exploits in the world. We should not allow any discord or sentiment to take away the power and purpose of our gathering. It is es...

GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU

Isaiah 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. Yes, Jerusalem forsook their God, they went their own way, thus they suffered the consequences. However God's hand of love was still stretched out towards them. The Lord did not forget them, God did not forget man. One thing was sure, that which was to have brought total annihilation rather brought about salvation for all men.  Colossians 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled All including Israel are saved if they return to the Lord.  Today we see Israel restored as a nation and even Jerusalem being recognized as a capital again. The Lord has not forgotten His own.  We are not forgotten, no matter what it is we feel we are going through, it is but for a time.  Isaiah 62:8-9  The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his...

WHAT CHRIST CAME TO DO

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound; The book of Isaiah was the revelation of Jesus the Christ, it showed what He came to do, His sufferings and the victory. So thus when Jesus had finished His fasting and overcame the temptations of Satan, He returned with power and entered the synagogue as was His custom. When He got to the synagogue in the village where he grew up, He was given the book of Isaiah to read: Luke 4:16-19 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News...

HONOUR THE SABBATH

Isaiah 56:2 Blessed [is] the man [that] doeth this, and the son of man [that] layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. I remember when I used to discuss bible doctrines with certain sects. I discovered that their seclusion from others were in keeping of days, including birthdays, sabbath days and even singing of national anthems among others. In Isaiah 56, the revelation of the study included the strangers that would be joined to the fold: Isaiah 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I [am] a dry tree. Isaiah 56:3-4 “Don’t let foreigners who commit themselves to the lord say, ‘The lord will never let me be part of his people.’ And don’t let the eunuchs say, ‘I’m a dried-up tree with no children and no future.’ For this is what the lord says: I will bless those eunuchs who ...

THE GLORY AFTER

Isaiah 60:21 Thy people also [shall be] all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. While we enjoy God's glory, splendor and power here on earth, we must remember that the main glory, the real rest is after here. What we enjoy here on earth is just a glimpse of what the Lord has in stock for us in eternity. Hebrews 4:8-9 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. We must never forget that the real rest is after we have left here, else we will get carried away by the activities of the flesh and thus miss it. 1 Corinthians 15:19  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Now remember: While we are here we are subject to the laws of the flesh but when we resurrect we are no longer bound by those laws: * to eat you have to work * the law of gravity * you ...

NEVER SEPARATED FROM GOD

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear. This was the situation at the time of the prophecy in Isaiah 59. Sin hindered man from being with God but God had His way of salvation. Halleluyah. God Himself saved man, man could never save himself. Reading through Isaiah we wonder why they ever expected God to hear them. What do we have today? Free access to God. That is what Christ paid the price for and what the Holy Spirit came to accomplish. However, the believer cuts himself off by doing anything away from faith! Romans 14:23b for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin. We remember that: Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. All acts of iniquity is a product of lack of faith. Thus we give room for fear, delusions and submit to the flesh. Selah How are th...

ACCEPTABLE FASTING

Isaiah 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and thou seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. We lose it when we think that fasting is a physical exercise, it is not. Fasting is a spiritual exercise. It is denying the body food and pleasure, that we may arouse the spirit. Matthew 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward, The exertion of the people of old and some sects or religion today according to God, is not acceptable to Him. Isaiah 58:4-5 What good is fasting when you keep on fighting and quarreling? This kind of fasting will never get you anywhere with me. You humble yourselves by going through the motions of penance, bowing your heads like reeds bending in the wind. You dress in burlap and cover you...

NO REST FOR THE WICKED!

Isaiah 57:21 [There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. It has always been this way, the wicked are always faced with God's wrath. When the righteous leave this earth it is to peace. They enter a rest waiting for the time when their reward will be revealed. Those of us still here, continue either in doing right or doing wrong. However, one thing is sure those who are alive at the time of the return of the Lord would have tested part of the tribulation, just a while, then they would be caught up with other saints to joy everlasting. But those who reject the Lord awaits judgement and sorrow that is unthinkable. Isaiah 57:1-2 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come]. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, [each one] walking [in] his uprightness. Revelation 22:11-22 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is fil...

THE HOLY SPIRIT

Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. This is the prophecy of the revelation of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit cannot be bought, but freely released by the Father. [Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Act 8:19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.] Jesus called out: John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that ...
